It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. I'd like to share some useful tips for positioning your Ring Outdoor Cam. Getting the most out of your Ring Outdoor Cam means placing it so that it captures as much as it possibly can. That's why a quick rule-of-thumb for the Ring Outdoor Cam is that, whether you're mounting your camera indoors or outdoors, higher is usually better. Your Ring Outdoor Cam will work fine at about eye-level, but raising it up to about nine feet (outdoors) or seven to eight feet (indoors) will work even better. You'll still be able to see faces, but your camera will be able to get a wider field of view and see more.
