Bought a few of these to "stick up" around the house. I do seem to loose WiFi connection often with these, wish they were stronger in that aspect.

      Hi Bella.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having your Ring Stick Up Cam perform consistently and reliably so that you can effectively monitor your home. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Stick Up Cam, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the concerns mentioned in your review.

If you are experiencing issues with the charging cable for your Ring Quick Release Battery, we recommend using a different USB cable. We are happy to provide you with some information on how to optimize the battery life of your Ring Stick Up Cam. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:

Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length."

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

Thank you for being the best part of Ring! Have a wonderful day!

      Hi RenaK.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Stick Up Cam online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. The Ring Stick Up Cam is our leading indoor and outdoor-ready security camera. The Ring Stick Up Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.

Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).

To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.

Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.

Check your mobile device's signal. If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.

Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading. If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

      Thank you,

      Hello Unhappy1,

We are thankful for your feedback regarding your experience with the Ring Stickup Camera. We are constantly pushing ourselves to develop products to empower users with an affordable, effective way to monitor and secure their home. In pursuit of our mission to make neighborhoods safer, when applying technologies to our business, we always consider our three pillars of customer security, privacy, and user control. We understand how important it is to have your devices working as intended, as it offers a level of security in your home.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. Here is a helpful article with more information on how to resolve motion concerns with your device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213106363-How-to-Set-Up-Motion-Detection-for-Your-Stick-Up-Cam.

Couldn't get it to find any wifi networks at all, let alone my network. Came out of the box with all correct pieces, charged the battery, fired up the app but no matter how many times I went through the process, the camera never found a network. After doing some research found that this is a very common issue for this particular camera.

      Hi Topher.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand the importance of a seamless setup process so that you can begin using your Ring Stick Up Cam right away. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with a concrete resolution as quickly as possible.

It sounds like your device has not been able to complete the setup. When going through a setup, the temporary wifi network called "Ring-" is being broadcast by your device. If you're having trouble finding this network, you should restart the setup procedure. When you get to this step, look for a slowly pulsing light on your device. This means the device is broadcasting the network. Now, try the setup process again. If you don't see this light, you may have a malfunctioning unit. Visit our support center for additional details.

      Hello Mike0589,

It is important that the motion detection feature on your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In meet your needs and expectations. We understand you've selected Ring to keep you updated on activity around your home, and receiving notifications when activity is detected is essential. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that together we can find a solution.

This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the Motion Frequency setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the Motion Frequency to 'Frequently'.

We agree that your Ring Stick Up Cam should notify you when someone is at your home consistently and reliably. Please reach out to us at https://community.ring.com/ for additional tips and support! Our top priority is ensuring the motion detection is meeting your needs.

First off, I REALLY wanted & needed this to work but it kept disconnecting from my WIFI signals almost daily. I bought a wifi extender yesterday thinking that would solve my problem, but it didn’t. It’s made for outside & is black.. both features I wanted. My white INDOOR ring camera had been in that exact location for months and ALWAYS worked, but I wanted a black one to be more ‘invisible’ in that location.. taking it back today. NOT HAPPY.

Hi MommyDearest619. Being able to rely on your Stick Up Cam to keep an eye on your home is an important concern and I'd be happy to offer some help. Frequently disconnecting from the wifi is likely due to the wifi connection that your Stick Up Cam is receiving, but there are various different troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this. I'd recommend reviewing the information in this Help Center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. If the steps presented in that article don't work, search the Ring Community at https://community.ring.com/ to find answers from other neighbors. Best, Ashley from Ring. Ring

      Hello JLK525,

At Ring, we want to ensure that you have the best possible experience with our products. Your peace of mind for security is extremely important to us. The Ring Stick Up Cam is designed to work in many environments and provide a seamless setup process.

While not comprehensive, the three most common causes of failure to complete setup (after entering an incorrect password) are your Ring device being too far from your wifi router, having a problem with your internet connection, or some type of issue related to your wifi modem or router.

If you've already brought your Ring camera inside next to your router and the setup continues to fail, try rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, the devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.

To reboot these devices, follow the instructions below:
-Unplug your router or model from its power supply (don't just turn it off).
-If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
-Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
-Wait for your internet to be restored.
-Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process.

Please reach out to us at https://community.ring.com/ for additional tips and support, if needed.

      Thank you,

      Hi Zerina.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Outdoor Cam to record clear and concise videos so that you can effectively monitor your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the video quality concern you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. We are happy to share some tips with you for troubleshooting why your Ring device may be experiencing issues with video quality. If your phone or tablet has poor service or internet, it could be affecting "Live View" or your video downloads. Try turning Bluetooth off, then open "Live View" or view a recorded Ring video. Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including video quality. We recommend following these steps in the Ring app: Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your device. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Device Health." Under the "Network" section, you'll see your device's "Signal Strength." If your "Signal Strength" (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Reboot your Ring doorbell or camera by following these steps: Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your device. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Device Health." Scroll down and tap "Reboot This Device." Wait a few minutes for your device to reboot.

      Hi Jade.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

We understand how important it is for your Ring Stick-Up Cam to function consistently and reliably. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like your device lost its wifi connection and is not reconnecting to wifi as expected. It is possible that your wifi signal is not strong enough where your device is installed. Physical obstructions between your Ring device and wifi router, such as large metal appliances, multiple walls, heavy furniture, or concrete, stone, or other dense building materials, can cause decreased wifi strength. You can try bringing your device closer to your router to set it up again. Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in Device Health to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

If you're frequently experiencing wifi performance issues or poor device signal strength, adding a Ring Chime Pro may help. Chime Pro acts as both a wifi extender and an audible doorbell chime for your Ring devices. Visit our support center for more information.

Disappointed that this was so expense and then have to pay annual subscription to have full use. Battery has to be charged more often than I would like -- especially when having to climb ladder for 4 outdoor cameras on home. The alternative individual solar chargers are also ridiculously priced. Hi Ragu.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Stick Up Cam so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. With Ring Stick Up Cam, stay connected to your home from anywhere by seeing who’s at your door and answering it right from the Ring app. Enjoy enhanced features like upgraded video quality from 720p HD to 1080p HD, "Near Zone" motion detection in areas as close as 5 to 15 feet in front of your home, and a reimagined mounting setup that simplifies installation. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the features of the device.

There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance.

Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

We recommend using the Ring Solar Panel to extend the battery life of your camera. Some newer Ring security cameras may have a USB-C connector instead of a barrel plug. If you have an older Solar Panel and a newer Stick Up Cam, you can purchase an adapter to use them together.

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

      Hello Tiff,

Thank you for leaving a review. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products and services. We truly value our consumer's feedback, simply because it helps us improve not only the product from a consumer standpoint but also our standards of service. If you are noticing that the battery in your Ring Stickup Camera is dying we recommend adjusting your motion settings as frequent motion alerts can drain your battery faster.

While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773.Ring Community was launched to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our neighbors. The ring has been not working since I did my subscription to ring monthly. It blacks out and does not record all movement. Making it ineffective at protecting my home.

      Hello Raae,

Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription service that allows video recordings from your Ring devices to be saved in your Ring account. Without Ring Protect Plan, you can do Live View on your doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you do not get video recordings of those events.

You can subscribe to the Ring Protect Basic Plan or Ring Protect Plus Plan on a monthly or yearly basis. Ring Protect Basic covers devices individually. Ring Protect Plus Plan covers all devices at the same location. This help article can provide more details on the Ring Protection Plan: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans.

Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.

Disappointed to find out that Best Buy sold me a wI-fi camera, in a sealed box, that for whatever reason, someone else, had already been assigned an account to and that it appeared to be New but wasn’t. In fact the installer that was sent to install it was also surprised that the camera already had another using it! Although I was able to return it to the store, the person who claimed to be a supervisor, appeared to be so RUDE that a friend of mine who was shopping with decided NOT to buy anything from Best Buy. Although I was the store manger would call me, and two additional request for the store manager to call me… I have NOT heard from the manager and I question why I should do any more business with the Best Buy location on Lake Forest Dr!

      Hi IrmaR.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Stick Up Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issues you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

      Thank you,
