Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed in this product. Once motion is detected it is takes too long to activate the camera so you can see the cause of the motion. Could be my wi-fi system but ring support has not been able to tell me what to do to correct the problem.

Not sure it’s working right
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, the camera works great, but I wouldn’t expect to use the two way. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone, but the person on the phone can’t hear anything spoken from the camera side. This thing is either garbage, or we received a defective unit from new.

Posted .Hi SaintGeorgeSt.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We know how essential it is for the two-way audio to work properly on your Stick Up Cam so you can speak with and hear whoever is at your door. The two-way audio is an invaluable feature of the Ring Stick Up Cam. We can definitely provide you with more information on the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. Please follow these steps to adjust the volume on your Ring Stick Up Cam:
Tap on the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your Ring Stickup Cam.
Tap on Device Settings.
Tap on General Settings.
Tap on Volume Settings.
Two-Way Talk: Adjust the volume slider for Device Speaker.
Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable.
Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

Posted .Hi DisappointedShopper.
We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Stick Up Cam so that you can have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Stick Up Cam, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home. We can definitely assist you with this today to ensure your Ring device is performing optimally and the proper settings are chosen within the Ring app.
It sounds like your battery is draining faster than expected. The batteries in Ring devices are designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation.
The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using Live View often can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your Motion Settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change the motion frequency to regularly or periodically, or adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand how important it is to be able to see who is at your home with the Ring Stick Up Cam. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with information to address the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the video quality of your device. The Ring Stick Up Cam features 1080p full HD resolution. If you’re seeing heavy pixilation, even next to the router, this may be due to slow wifi speeds. Follow these steps to run a wifi speed test:
Turn off your mobile phone’s cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your device.
Tap Device Health.
Under Tools tap Test Your Wifi.
Tap Start to run a test that will measure your upload and download speeds.
Both upload and download speeds should be at least 1 Mbps or greater, but 2 Mbps or above is ideal.
Check the numbers on your wifi speed test. If either your upload or download speed is below 1 Mbps, then you might consider replacing your router (especially if it's older than five years). Contact your internet service provider to learn more about getting newer equipment and faster speeds.

Posted .Hello Craig,
The key to getting the most out of your camera is making sure that the device is in an optimal position to pick up everything you want to see. Ring Stick Up Cam can be mounted anywhere, but works best when approximately five to seven feet off the ground.
It is critical to get the most life from your Ring battery as it can be cumbersome to remove and charge them in some exterior mounting locations. The rechargeable battery can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured.
The Ring Solar Panel and Super Solar Panel are designed to provide a trickle charge to the Ring Stick Up Cam and Spotlight Cam. Which product is right for you depends on two important factors:
1. Number of Motion Events per day: If your Ring device is in an area that detects more events every day than average (defined as 10+events per day) than your battery will drain faster and require more power or recharging more often.
2. Your Solar Environment: Warmer climates and areas that get less rain and cloud cover will get more kW of solar energy per day than rainier or cloudier zones. In such areas, having a larger solar panel may be a necessity for powering your Ring device.
We would love the opportunity to connect with you, to ensure your Ring camera is meeting your needs and expectations. Will you kindly reach out to us today?
Sincerely,
Ring Team

Posted .Hi PamL.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam capture all the correct motion events. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when you have visitors is an essential feature of the Ring Stick Up Cam. We want to work with you to make sure we get the motion detection working as intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the motion detection of your device. The Ring Stick Up Cam offers advanced motion detection with customizable motion zones so that you can be alerted to the motion you want to be. The customizable motion zones let you focus on specific areas that you want your Ring device to cover and ignore high-traffic areas you don't want to monitor. By customizing these zones, you can reduce the number of false motion alerts, such as cars driving by or trees moving in the distance.
When setting up your motion zones, you will want to make your Ring device's view as clear as possible. Motion detection can sometimes trigger "false" alerts because of moving trees, lightning, the rising or setting sun, reflections off a shiny object, headlights, shadows, and more. To reduce false alerts, adjust your motion zones, remove shiny objects, cut back tree branches that create moving shadows, or angle your device to avoid the sun.

Posted .Hello Badcamera,
We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security. Your Ring Stick Up Cam is intended to provide this for you. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a resolution in a timely manner.
One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi quality:
- Physical Obstructions: Certain materials can reduce the range of wifi signals (or even block them). Here are some examples of things that can interfere with your Ring device’s signal strength:
Heavy-duty walls and floors made of materials like concrete, brick, or metal.
Household objects such as fish tanks, bookcases and mirrors.
Windows made of Low-E glass also cause interference.
While other materials like wood and glass don't have as much effect, the more walls and floors between your router and your Ring products, the more interference you're likely to see.
- Competing wifi networks: If you live in a densely crowded area such as a big city or apartment building, there can be dozens of Wi-Fi networks around you which can cause interference and lower the quality of your network. If you open the wireless options on your mobile device or computer and see a long list of networks, you may be experiencing this type of interference.
-Other electronics: This is a difficult kind of interference to detect, as it can come from almost anything—even from appliances such as microwave ovens and baby monitors that aren't connected to your wifi network. The biggest source of electronic interference though, are those appliances that use the same Wi-Fi network as your Ring device to perform their basic functions. These include cellular phones, iPads, other smart home devices, TVs, and video game consoles.
We would like to work with you directly to turn around your Ring experience. Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. We are confident with a few simple setting changes, we can get the Stick Up Cam to function as it is intended.

When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Here is a helpful article that explains this feature in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency.
Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could cast a shadow on your solar power device, such as an extended roof, tree branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.
The solar panel requires direct sunlight. Filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds will not provide a charge to your doorbell/camera. ||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor quality. Works sometimes. We use this on our covered porch and we fine the camera quality and video playback to be extremely poor. Maybe this product is more suited for indoor use.
