Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install, battery power lasts about 2 months with my motion detection settings, app is user friendly Cameras cannot be mounted upside down (to a ceiling) as ring has locked down this feature in their software, you will need a special mount to fasten to a ceiling. If this issue was not present I would have given a higher rating, but overall this is a good system, with good compatibility to other platforms, good user interface and easy to use.

The quality is great and the battery life is really nice! The only thing that is a "negative" is having to recharge the battery that might take a while but if timed correctly, it won't be an issue.

When I got the camera the battery was charged 20%. I charged it up to 30% using the usb cable (included in the package) and used it overnight. It didn’t drop much. In the morning, when I checked again it was still at 30% and by the evening it got charged (by solar) up to about 86%. The next morning it was around 60% or so. Not bad. I am very disappointed with its motion detection. I set up the sensitivity to be on MAX. Yet, I didn’t capture me moving in front of it for a minute. Same thing happened at night. Then, the snapshot capture can only be set to 5 minutes, 14 minutes or every 1 hour. Why not every 30 seconds or so? It didn’t even capture any snapshots of my 1+ minute walk in front of the camera. As such it’s hard for me to trust this product. It’s my first outdoor ring camera. The other two ring cameras that I own are indoor and also missing events, but at least I can capture snapshots every 30 seconds. Overall I am not very impressed. I expected better.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. It can also be used on its own if you don’t want a door bell. I do not have any complaint or issue with this product, this is actually the second one we have purchased as we are pleased with the product and company. Customer service has always been quick to answer any questions or concerns.

The drill bit does not come in the package but I already had one since I also have the video doorbell ring device. I got the battery option so I change it every one to two weeks. Sometimes the camera misses the motion detection or there's a delay in notifications. The app isnt always that great as I have an Android but it seems to work best on iphones according to the reviews. Other than that, I like it and it was affordable for what I needed.
