      Hi Rray,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Stick Up Cam experience with us. This is our next-generation security camera that can be used both indoors and outdoors to bolster the security around your home. The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery features 1080p full HD resolution, night vision, two-way audio, HD video recording, and a wide viewing angle with multiple power options.

We agree that getting the most life from your Ring battery is essential, so that it can provide you with round the clock coverage. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring camera, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look or speak through your camera. As most of our Ring devices are powered by lithium-ion batteries, it's important to note that at temperatures below 40 °F, the battery is less effective at holding a charge and may require more frequent recharges.

We'd like to connect you with our Ring specialist, so they may provide you a solution to help optimize the battery life. Please reach out to us today at amazon.advocates@ring.com.

      Sincerely,
      Danielle from Ring

      Hello Shell,

We are thankful for your feedback regarding your experience with the Ring Stickup Camera. We are constantly pushing ourselves to develop products to empower users with an affordable, effective way to monitor and secure their home. In pursuit of our mission to make neighborhoods safer, when applying technologies to our business, we always consider our three pillars of customer security, privacy, and user control. We understand how important it is to have your devices working as intended, as it offers a level of security in your home. After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Stickup Camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below: Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off). If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in. Wait for your internet to be restored. Here is a helpful article which walks you through additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly. Additionally, if you have not already, please check out our Ring Community forum where other Ring users, like yourself, have an open discussion platform to share their experiences, as well as solutions to issues experienced: https://community.ring.com/. Hi PamL.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam capture all the correct motion events. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when you have visitors is an essential feature of the Ring Stick Up Cam. We want to work with you to make sure we get the motion detection working as intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.

It sounds like you have some concerns with the motion detection of your device. The Ring Stick Up Cam offers advanced motion detection with customizable motion zones so that you can be alerted to the motion you want to be. The customizable motion zones let you focus on specific areas that you want your Ring device to cover and ignore high-traffic areas you don't want to monitor. By customizing these zones, you can reduce the number of false motion alerts, such as cars driving by or trees moving in the distance.

When setting up your motion zones, you will want to make your Ring device's view as clear as possible. Motion detection can sometimes trigger "false" alerts because of moving trees, lightning, the rising or setting sun, reflections off a shiny object, headlights, shadows, and more. To reduce false alerts, adjust your motion zones, remove shiny objects, cut back tree branches that create moving shadows, or angle your device to avoid the sun.

If you haven't already, please review the device health section of the Ring app. Here, you can find and resolve most underlying network issues that may be playing a part in the delays.

      Hello there, Best Buy customer

We understand how important it is for a Ring device to connect you to a live view as quickly as possible. If your Stick Up Cam is not doing so, try the following steps:

      - Reboot your Camera using the Ring app: https://bit.ly/3YQo5uQ.
      - Reboot your router by unplugging it for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.
      - Check the signal strength of your camera, also known as RSSI: https://bit.ly/3KuZwjx.

      Hello Badcamera,

We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security. Your Ring Stick Up Cam is intended to provide this for you. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a resolution in a timely manner.

One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi quality:

      - Physical Obstructions: Certain materials can reduce the range of wifi signals (or even block them). Here are some examples of things that can interfere with your Ring device’s signal strength:

Heavy-duty walls and floors made of materials like concrete, brick, or metal.
Household objects such as fish tanks, bookcases and mirrors.
Windows made of Low-E glass also cause interference.

While other materials like wood and glass don't have as much effect, the more walls and floors between your router and your Ring products, the more interference you're likely to see.

      - Competing wifi networks: If you live in a densely crowded area such as a big city or apartment building, there can be dozens of Wi-Fi networks around you which can cause interference and lower the quality of your network. If you open the wireless options on your mobile device or computer and see a long list of networks, you may be experiencing this type of interference.

-Other electronics: This is a difficult kind of interference to detect, as it can come from almost anything—even from appliances such as microwave ovens and baby monitors that aren't connected to your wifi network. The biggest source of electronic interference though, are those appliances that use the same Wi-Fi network as your Ring device to perform their basic functions. These include cellular phones, iPads, other smart home devices, TVs, and video game consoles.

We would like to work with you directly to turn around your Ring experience. Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. We are confident with a few simple setting changes, we can get the Stick Up Cam to function as it is intended.

      Thank you,

Hi Lostbuds. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring device so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like you are concerned about the battery life of your Ring device. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up to operate as intended for your needs.

As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras may experience several issues including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:

36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently.
32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery.
-5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.

When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using Live View often can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, under Motion Settings for your device in the Ring app you can:

Adjust your Motion Sensitivity slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your Customizable Motion Zones.
Change Motion Frequency to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to Power Settings in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

To access Power Settings, open the Ring app:

Tap menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard.
      Tap Devices.
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap Power Settings to check your Battery Level percentage and Feature Power Usage .
Tap a feature to adjust Snapshot Capture, Motion Frequency and Video Recording Length.

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Quick Release Battery, please reach out to our Community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

Thank you for being the best part of Ring! Have a wonderful day!

      Hi EdwardS.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

We understand that having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Stick Up Camera Battery, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are gone for an extended period of time. We would love to work with you on finding the best solution for your home environment's needs.

It sounds like the battery in your stick-up camera died much faster than expected. Ring devices' batteries are designed to last months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on factors in your home's environment, such as local weather, the number of events captured, the frequency of activation, and wifi connectivity.

If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you will likely need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity notifications, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change the motion frequency to "regularly" or "periodically," or adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

      Hi LynnB.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick-Up Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would love to work with you to address your concerns and ensure your device is performing optimally.

It sounds like you have some concerns regarding the night vision on your device. Night vision is a feature of the Ring Stick Up Cam that allows you to see activity at home during the night. In the Ring app, you have the option to turn color night vision on or off. Color Night Vision adds color to video in low light for improved clarity and motion detection. With the feature turned off, your Ring device will show video captured at night in black and white. Visit our support center for more information.

Hello Nelle, Thank you for leaving a review. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. It is important to us that you have all the necessary information to ensure that your setup experience is seamless. We truly value your feedback, simply because it helps us improve the product from a consumer standpoint. Rest assured, we’re here to provide you with some information regarding device ownership and how Ring is protecting our neighbors by adding these safeguards. If you got a message saying that your Ring device is registered to someone else, this means at some point, another person started the setup process in the Ring app. If you purchased it from a retailer, you should return the device and request a replacement. Here is a helpful article that elaborates on this in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-au/articles/4403292609044-Device-still-registered-to-its-owner-error-during-setup. Additionally, if you have not already, please check out our Ring Community forum where other Ring users, like yourself, have an open discussion platform to share their experiences, as well as solutions to issues experienced: https://community.ring.com/. Hello Protection,

Thank you for sharing your Ring Stick Up Camera feedback with our team directly. We appreciate it. Your device is intended to quickly connect to the video feed so you may see and speak with visitors. We are here to provide you with steps to resolve this issue for you.

You may have recently received a notification on your mobile device of a Motion Event in your Ring app. But when you opened your Ring app to view the event, you got a blurry screen with a message that the app was having trouble connecting to the Ring device. Receiving this error means that there's an issue with the data transfer between your Ring device and the app. As a result, your Ring app is unable to display the video image from your Ring's camera.

The three most common causes of this problem are the following:
A poor connection between your mobile device and the internet.
Slow internet upload and/or download speeds.
A poor connection between your Ring device and your router.

Here is a helpful support article with steps to resolve your concern: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001499906-Ring-App-is-Having-Trouble-Connecting-to-a-Ring-Device-and-Showing-Video.

      Hello Ameen,

First and foremost, we thank you for your business and the opportunity in serving your home security needs. The Ring Stick Up Cam is designed to connect you to 1080p HD video consistently and reliably. We understand how important the video feature is, as this allows you to see your visitors.

Poor video quality or connectivity can sometimes be caused by a wifi issue. We recommend running a distance test in order to discover what video resolution you are receiving at your router, compared to how it performs when mounted. For the best results, please do the following:

      1. Remove your Ring Camera from its mounting and bring it into the same room as your wifi router.
      2. Be sure you've turned off your cellular data and connected to the same 2.4GHz wifi network as your Ring device.
      3. Open your Ring app on your smart-phone or tablet.
      4. Trigger a motion event on your Ring Camera.
      5. Examine the resulting video.

There are two possibilities that will occur during the distance test: the device will have crisp and clear video as it is intended to have, or the video will still be of poor quality.

If you find that the video is clear and you are connected fast, then we recommend improving the wifi signal to your Ring camera by connecting it to a wifi extender, such as the Ring Chime Pro. However, if you find that the video is still of poor quality or takes too long to load, then you will want to address issues with your wifi speeds.

We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home and know it's vital that the video features meet your needs and expectations. Please reach out to us today at https://community.ring.com/ for additional tips and support!

      Thank you,
      Antonio from Ring Ring
