Its great when it actually works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this camera in white in my livingroom and i have the doorbell camera as well. I love both cameras when they actually work! It seems like either one or both of them are always having connection problems even though the wifi is in the same room as the stick up camera and the doorbell camera is about the same distance away. It’s extremely irritating spending money on stuff that only works half the time!! Im getting really tired of dealing with it and may just switch to something more reliable.

Posted .Hi Ranger8745. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal on the Ring Stick Up Cam. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you are experiencing some connection issues with the device. Stick Up Cam Battery is a versatile security camera that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Ring Stick Up Cam Battery features 1080p full HD resolution, Color Night Vision, Two-Way Talk, HD video recording, a wide angle view, and Customizable Motion Zones.
Ring Stick Up Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor WiFi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device.
Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We recommend adding the Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Chime Pro (2nd Generation) extends wifi coverage through your house specifically to a Ring device. This device helps to extend your wifi signal to boost the network for all your Ring Video Doorbells and Cams.

Posted .Hi MaricelaG.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased to read that you are finding value in your Ring Stick Up Cam. At Ring, we believe in keeping people close to what’s important. That is why we are driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home and empower you to connect with your visitors from wherever you are. Together, we’ll make neighborhoods safer!
There are some steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:
Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.
You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.
To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your new Ring device. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences with Ring.
Thank you,
Melissa from Ring.

Posted .Hi EricaD.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Stick Up Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to motion detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature in the Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
To ensure that your cat is detected, we recommend enabling record for "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.
Thank you,

Goes offline all the time worthless dont buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have super high wifi. And extenders throughout my home. In fact the one that keeps going off line isnt 8 feet from a booster. It goes offline and doesn’t correct itself for days, then itll randomly come on. And, reconnecting to the internet never works using the prompts by Ring. It also will fire off notifications every 30 seconds to 1 minute for hours and hours. And nothing has even walked near the camera. For $99 you’d be better off just buying some cheaper cameras, and getting 2-3 for the price of this useless camera. The ring doorbell works wonderful. The stick up ones are junk.

Posted .Hi user262151.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
We understand how critical it is to be able to monitor the comings and goings of your home while the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery stays connected to your home’s wifi network properly. The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery was designed to work both indoors and outdoors with the proper connection. We would love to help get everything working for you quickly! Ensuring there is a solid network connection so you do not miss a notification is our top priority.
It sounds like your device is continuously falling offline. If a device frequently goes offline, it usually lacks a strong wifi signal. The Ring app can be used to check your RSSI (received signal strength indicator) and optimize your wifi signal strength.
To check your RSSI in the Ring app:
1. Tap the three lines (☰) on the top left corner of the dashboard.
2. Tap Devices and select any of your Ring devices.
3. Tap Device Health.
4. Under "Network," look for "Signal Strength."
Your RSSI in the Ring app will be green, amber, or red to indicate connection strength. If it shows amber or red, you may need to improve the signal to the device. Visit our support center for some quick tips on how to get a stronger wifi signal for your Ring device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength.

Worthless without Premium subscription
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. Canary will remove critical features such as 24 hour clip recording which makes the device worthless without their premium service. A device that only tells you there is motion without recording a clip has zero value. When I purchased the device you would receive. Preview of the motion and a 10-30 second clip that showed the cause and it would be stored for 24 hours. Now, all you receive is a notification that there was some sort of movement with no preview, no recording.

Posted .Hi Bryan, I'd be happy to clarify what you can expect with or without a Ring Protect plan. Without an active Ring Protect subscription, your Ring Stick Up Cam will still detect and notify you of motion. You can also access the Live View via the Ring app to see what's going on. To activate video recording, you need to have an active Ring Protect subscription. To learn more about what features are available with the Ring Protect plan, check out this Help Center article https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans.
