This battery-powered camera is really handy, as you can move it around until you get just the right spot, not having to worry about a power cord reaching to the spot you want. Video quality is good (though it doesn't seem to be as soon as they advertise), and the battery holds a charge for weeks, even under a fairly heavy load (frequent motion detections). My only complaint (and it's a pretty big one) is that it has a bright blue light that comes on when it detects motion. In a dark room, it is BRIGHT. You won't notice it during the day, really, but it's almost startling if you trigger it at night.

Ring cameras were easy to set up and install. Batteries took a while to charge but appear to last a long time. I recommend buying and additional battery for each unit with a stand-alone charger which charge the batteries in 2 hours. The clarity of the cameras are excellent. However, confirm you have a strong WiFi signal where you intend to mount camera. Purchase a good WiFi extender is signal is weak. Cameras need a strong signal to work effectively.

    Perfect Home Security Camera

I decided to completely revamp my home security due to age and new products on the market. I was using an early generation Arlo camera, and the sale on the Ring at the time of the review was too good to not consider. The setup is extremely easy with the Ring App. Mounting the camera on a wall was also quite easy, and all the necessary parts were included. Picture quality and motion detection are far superior to my previous system. The picture is crisp, and night vision is very good. The ability to customize to detect humans and the ability to adjust the field of view are great features. All of this can be customized in the App. I look forward to getting the rest of my cameras and Ring Security system installed.

These are great little cameras; the issue is simply this. They are so easy to setup and use I think I might have gotten a little carried away. My home now has more cameras running than my local Wells Fargo! Caution, the battery life is good, but I do recommend having a couple of spares to cycle around as you recharge others.

very easy to install, video and sound are very clear and night vision works great. I bought a second rechargeable battery for it but the battery is lasting for a very long time so I have still not switched the battery out.

Absolutely love ring products. My house is covered in ring cameras in and out. This specific camera is probably my favorite product. The picture is clear, signal stays strong, battery life is perfect (probably every two weeks with HEAVY action), and i love the ability to have color at night. Highly recommended!

Perfect for monitoring whatever you want. It’s easy to set up & can change the location anytime you want. It holds good battery life & install is easy after charge. I have 3 so I keep an extra battery so I can change out right then. I can change location anytime I want & have different sound settings for each camera to know exactly which camera is alerted. Love mine.

I have multiple Ring devices. The stick-up camera is currently installed at a little less than eyeball height right by the backyard door. The picture is good, I've even held a small conversation with family members through it. Works ok for short 1-2 minute conversations. After that breaks up a little in my experience. The Ring is easy to install and perfect if you have no need for a doorbell this is the way to go. PROs: - Easy install - Picture quality is good - 1 month free trial of Ring camera - The online cloud service is excellent - Does it's job CONs: - It doesn't work perfectly - I would not install these inside my home, just outside (just my personal opinion) - There is no zoom, it's just a framed perspective. (However, you can zoom in on recorded video after it's been processed) - When installing these in the backyard there is always a blind spot you have to account for depending on how your house walls are built. (You may not have this issue.) CONs:

Purchase this camera to cart backyard and as a compliment to my ring doorbell. Has worked really well. Alarm notifications do not sound off nearly as a much as I thought it would. That may also be because proper sensitivity setting. My back yard is wide but short, and this camera covers a significant portion of the yard providing clear, near hi def pictures. Also, capable of 2 way communication. And so far, battery life is really good. I’ve had for a month and have not charged battery yet. Easy set up and install too. Good camera at a reasonable price for those who’s Budget is not ready for whole home security set up.

    Revolutionary Security Device

I'm absolutely blown away by this camera. I purchased the battery powered one, thinking I'd have to charge it once a week, maybe once ever two weeks. No... its once every TWO months. That is with consistent use, and in very cold weather. Picture quality is great for the price, and sound picks up very well too. Mobile app has been flawless. Revolutionary security product. Only issue I have its not constant on, but motion sensing only.... however, that is completely understandable for this price point. I will be purchasing another camera for our backyard this Spring.

These cameras are great. Easy to install, phone set up was simple and charging (also the length of time the unit stays charged) is great. Would have purchased the black ones (but they were out of stock) because they are used outside and white stands out. I like that you can turn off the light when it records, makes it a little less noticeable. The recording quality is excellent, picture is clear, even during rain and snow. You can place these cameras pretty much anywhere, even upside down. They're a lil on the pricey side but worth the money.

I have had many different security cameras systems. I must say this is one of the better companies. It clear, reliable, easy to setup. Battery life is good. Has night vision, motion sensors that you can adjust. Real time camera footage that you can access through the app. Only thing I wish I bought the upgraded versions with 4K resolution. The 1080p is still crisp and clear no complaints. Just preference. All around great product. Money well spent.

these are very simple to set up and relatively inexpensive. they are easy to set up outside however, consider what kind of wifi system you have since that signal will have to reach through your walls. if the signal is weak then recordings will be corrupted and not saved. battery life is good and video quality is equivalent to the ring doorbell

These cameras are super easy to install on walls. The app was also very easy to connect the Cameras to. With multiple settings you don’t have to be notified every time there’s motion. The pictures are sharp and clear and you can zoom in. I did the battery powered cameras because I did not want cords hanging everywhere. The batteries are really easy to change but so far after a month there’s still plenty of charge in each camera. The cloud storage is relatively cheap if you have multiple cameras. Overall just a great product.

Review from a Google Nest owner/user.

My wife's parents are in the Amazon eco-system so when they asked for a couple cameras at their house and barn, I decided to give these Ring cameras a try for their needs. I use Nest equipment in my own home so this review will be from that perspective. The physical installation was by far the easiest part of all this. It's really kind of hard to mess it up and you either mount it one way or another. Initial camera setup was kind of a pain. Especially in the barn where the signal from their WIFI isn't the best. I installed an extender that helped but not as straight-forward as my Nest camera installations. There is a point in particular where it's downloading a firmware update and it takes so long that you question whether it's going to actually finish or not. It does, just be patient... Now I didn't have a whole lot of time playing with the software on the phone application, but from what I experienced I will say it was at least on par with Nest with the ease of accessing your camera feeds. You can even ask Alexa to show you X camera (Barn or Front Door in our case), and it pulled it up without any fuss. I can't speak for the longevity of the battery as it's still too new, but I will say it took an entire evening to charge the batteries full. So hopefully that means it will hold the 1-2 month claim the BestBuy representative claimed on them. Overall if you have Amazon products already I can say these cameras will work well with your setup. If your already using Nest products, I can't see a compelling reason to switch over but everyone has their preferences. I.E. Android vs Apple, etc.
