We purchased this to keep an eye on any possible thieves that may want to break into our cars. First off, it is supposed to make the difference between people and things. For a while it wouldn't even detect a person. When we first got the camera, it did an OK job at that. Now, it misses the person. I change the aim so that it faces directly down our driveway and it does a little better. But it still misses people when they come up our driveway. It alerts me when they are going back down away from the camera totally missing their face. And there's a couple of times this has alerted me in the middle of the night that someone was out there all to find it was either a moth or a cat that set it off (keep in mind I have this set up to detect a person; if I have it set up to detect any movement its constantly going off because of the the breeze through the trees at the edge of the view). As for the picture quality, it's OK. It went off yesterday when the water meter reader entered our driveway. Again, I couldn't see his face because he was walking away. And it was hard to tell much because he blended in with the shadows. I would hope that Ring would fix this. Take care of this problem and I will probably give it closer to four or five stars.
