I installed it near my Ring doorbell to give another view. The doorbell has been connected with no problem but the camera could not connect to my home wifi. I had to upgrade the doorbell to the one with the built in wifi extender. It is working well now and if it had connected with out the additional purchase I would have given it 5 stars.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In’s sound quality, we recommend that you check the following:
Bring your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In near your router and trigger an event. If the sound improves, you may want to add a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro to your setup to improve connectivity. If the sound does not improve, try holding the setup button down for twenty seconds and testing again. Remove the power source from your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In for twenty seconds, reinsert it, then test audio again.

Having it plugged in provides more features like constantly having it take screenshots.
