We understand how important it is to have longevity in a battery-powered security device. Being able to rely on your device for extended periods of time is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home. We would like to provide you with solutions to the concerns you are experiencing today!

It sounds like you are enjoying the features of the Ring Stick Up Cam but have some concerns with the battery life. The rechargeable battery can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, under Motion Settings for your device in the Ring app, you can:

Adjust your Motion Sensitivity slider to a lower sensitivity
Redraw your Customizable Motion Zones
Change the motion frequency to regularly or periodically
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

The Ring Stick Up Cam can look out a window, however, the glass can have an impact on the device's functionality. During the in-app setup it will ask you if the camera will be looking out a window, if you select 'Yes', it does warn you that doing so can block night vision and negatively impact motion detection.

It sounds like the device is not functioning as expected in regards to speaker volume. You can adjust the speaker volume on your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In to the sound level that’s right for you by following these steps:
Tap on the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your Ring Security Camera.
Tap on Device Settings.
Tap on General Settings.
Tap on Volume Settings. Two-Way Talk: Adjust the volume slider for Device Speaker.

I would be happy to address your concern regarding the issue that you are experiencing with the motion detection of your Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment.
Accuracy in motion detection can be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app. This will reduce unnecessary alerts, ensuring you only receive the alerts that are important to you.

To enable Smart Alerts:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.
