It has the best app ( only down once in last 3 years). It also has excellent picture quality and motion with good night vision.

This is the second camera I purchased for my house. I really enjoy the products from Ring. Good picture quality. Power cord was long for enough for where I needed to install camera.

My first security cam

I opted not to install it outdoor. I have it sitting next to a window and the clarity is amazing. The Ring app is very easy to use, although I wish it wasn't so inundated with shopping pages. I have it plugged in all the time but I do see that the option to slide in a battery and go wireless is there if I wanted to. I intend to get three more of these cameras. So far they're working very well for me. I do wish live video was not limited to around 10 minutes. I hope later down the road Ring let's users go live for as long as they want.

Pictures are very good and in my expectations. The only downfall is that the speaker voice on the camera is not loud enough. They could’ve add a volume control which it will be very good. Other than the low speaker voice I’m very much satisfied with my camera.

Emergency siren is o.k., not very loud. Camera pic is also good.. I'm not sure if we can put battery in this: I use plug-in because evidently the battery models are slow to record. I now have total of about 11 cameras, so I need to stop buying more...

I have it facing outside inside a window and the blue light seems to deter some people to think twice. There has been a lot of car break ins lately, as well as people soliciting with bad intent. and this camera has aided in helping myself as well as my neighbors. The mode settings and set up allows me to capture the area I want that the human eye can not see in the dark. I feel better since I have had this camera. I recommend giving it a try it is affordable and worth it.

Ring camera for outdoors

Lots of false alarms though. If you have a rocking chair it will set it off as "people" if it rocks in the wind. If a moth or wasp flys by (close to the cam) it will notify you as well. 95% of the notifications are non -human. We live in the country thus numerous issues with moths at night. Interesting to see that wildlife like feral cats and skunks are looking in our windows at night. However, I guess that is to be expected. We chose to install it with the cord which was fortunately very long since it is installed outside, then drill through the exterior wall, then run to the nearest outlet. I would not trust batteries if installed in a northern state during the winter.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Ring Outdoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not detecting motion as expected. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

Had a few issues getting it to update software but overcame that. Not sure what the issue was. Works great in daylight and with no lights. It. Also has a siren you can set off from the phone app if you suspect someone is around. The downside is the 30$ a year to record video in the cloud even if you pay for the ring doorbell. So every ring camera requires a 30$ a year plan to record video.
