    Can't see thru glass

    We purchased 2 cameras to use inside facing out into the yard. No one ever mentioned that these were incapable of seeing and functioning thru a simple piece of glass. I am really surprised that through the whole process no one told us even after we explained how we were intending to use them.It wasn't until the tech tried to install them that we found out. Even the tech was unaware. Trying to get thru to the store is almost impossible. Writing a review seems to be the only way to communicate. Other Ring equipment does not work either.

      Based on your review, it seems like you are unable to use your Ring Stickup Camera behind a window. Windows generally block heat sources, which means when the Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) to detect motion, the Ring device will not be able to detect the motion through a window. There are a couple of scenarios when this can happen:

      During the day, your powered Ring device uses Advanced Motion Detection, which is when the camera looks for changes physically in the environment. The Ring device should be able to see through a window during the day.

      At night, your powered Ring device still uses Advanced Motion Detection but also uses Passive Infrared (PIR) to verify the motion. Since windows block heat sources, your Ring device will not be able to accurately view or record through a window at night.       We recently released the Rapid Ring App, which was designed to facilitate a speedy response when answering notifications. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring App with most of the features stripped out except for Ring device statuses and the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app instead of the original Ring App you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible.

      Think of this app as a companion to the Ring App. You'll continue to use your original Ring App for all the settings functions built into your Ring devices such as checking video history or adjusting motion and video settings.

    I have purchased a number of ring items through the course of the fall and winter this item is very poor quality I have the full alarm system I have the ring doorbell I have outdoor cameras all of it it's very average unfortunately the cost is minimal compared to some of the other security systems but with that said he can what you paid for.

You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that Ring Stick Up Cam is designed to add to your home security. We completely understand the relevance of having your device online and connect to your wifi network, as this ensures you can access the camera to check on activity around your home anytime day or night.

      Although they are rare, disconnects can occur and can usually be traced back to nearby interference or underlying network issues. Both of which are easily resolved with a few changes. A common solution to most network related problems is creating a guest network. You could then pair the Ring Stick Up Cam to the guest network to ensure the device remains online. Another thing to consider is wifi interference caused by a nearby object or material. Things such as brick, metal, stucco etc. can diminish a wifi signal as it reaches your camera. Do you happen to have your camera mounted on any of these surfaces? Additionally, network and environmental interference can contribute to the camera's ability to stream live video.

      It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Stick Up Cam is an indoor/outdoor-ready security camera that can be used to capture out-of-sight areas and blind spots. It’s equipped with "Color Night Vision" and customizable motion detection. Just mount the wireless camera and adjust the viewing angle for wide coverage throughout the day or night.

      Enable "Color Night Vision" in the Ring app to help improve clarity at night.

    Don't waste your money with ring products I have four ring cams bought all at best buy three work I have been on the phone with ring waited 25 min on the phone then got somebody from some foreign country can't understand could NOT fix my problem after 45 min. Bestbuy won't take it back got them in nov as gifts BUT DID NOT PUT THEM IN UNTIL NOW. IT'S A BAD CAM BUT NOBODY WILL STAND BEHIND IT. I'M DONE WITH BOTH RING AND BESTBUY!

To complete the reset, please hold the setup button down for 15 consecutive seconds and then release. The camera will take about one minute to complete the reset.     Purchased in April in a little less then three month it Lost the color view at night, takes 45 seconds or longer and some times it can not connect to app, Called tech support 4 times this week they keep having me reset it, had to threaten to get a layer for them to agree to change it out. When it work it’s great.

    I have three of these exact cameras that I bought a year ago. I just recently bought this new one this week. Sadly, the quality on these dropped significantly. The plastic is cheap and its flimsy and overall just bad.

    no volume button. ring customer service not great

    The volume on the camera is too low. You can barely hear the siren alert on the camera. And the voice telling people they are being recorded is inaudible. I tried adjusting the volume using the ring app, but there is no volume slider button. So i am stuck with low volume on camera. I called customer support and they told me there is no volume button on the ringapp. I do not recommend this ring camera.

Rest assured, there are some things you can check in order to improve the audio performance on your device. First, make sure the external volume is up on your mobile device (on the device where you're viewing your Ring videos or Live View). Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including with recording or capturing audio. If your Signal Strength (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device.     Gave it 3 stars cause it came with no battery, and the camera won’t work without the battery.
