I received the Echo Show 8 as a gift so decided to go with the ring. Although I found the set up confusing, once I had it going on the Echo, my phone and iPad, I'm extremely pleased. Will shortly be adding an outdoor camera to cover the back of the house.

However, it’s not the most useful alone. The battery dies fairly quickly, so a solar panel would be useful. Also, it gets disconnected OFTEN from the wifi. I’m assuming distance is the issue. I will try buying a chime pro and see if this fixes the issue.

We completely understand the relevance of having your device up and running, as this ensures you can access the camera to check on activity around your home anytime day or night. We’d love to provide you some tips to ensure your device is consistently connected to your network.
Although they are rare, disconnects do occur and can usually be traced back to nearby interference or underlying network issues. Both of which are easily resolved with a few changes. A common solution to most network related problems is creating a guest network. You could then pair the Ring Doorbell 3 to the guest network to ensure the device remains online. Another thing to consider is wifi interference caused by nearby objects or materials. Things such as brick, metal, or stucco can diminish the wifi signal as it travels to your doorbell. Do you happen to have your doorbell mounted on any of these surfaces?

Best doorbell for home security

I can now communicate with anyone who comes to my house to solicit or drops by unexpectedly. Not only does it provide me and my family with peace of mind, I am now notified whenever I receive a delivery and contact a neighbor of family member to hold it for me until I get home.

Mine is not hardwired because I have problems with my wiring. I wish you didn't have to take the battery out every month or two but I guess it could be worse. Sometimes the wind will set the camera off which I don't care for. It gives quite a few false notifications.
