Not a well designed product for freezing winter

The nights with temperature -20C the battery power would drop 5 to 10% over night even when hard wired. The annoying thing is ring made this doorbell only to work with battery even when hard wired and as soon as the battery hits 5% or less it would stop working.

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus runs on a rechargeable quick-release battery pack.
The doorbell can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). It is important to note that all battery-operated doorbells, like your Ring Doorbell 3 Plus, does not use the electricity generated by the hardwiring to power its regular operations. Instead, it uses the provided rechargeable battery to do all of its regular operations like ring, detect motion, and generate a Live View. The charge from the hardwiring supplies a trickle-charge to the battery.
Additionally, cold weather has unfortunate effects on lithium-ion batteries such as the one in your Ring Doorbell 3 Plus. As the temperature drops, these batteries begin to have trouble holding a charge and if it gets cold enough, they'll stop working altogether. As a result, at certain temperatures, the battery may run out of power faster than expected and may need to be recharged more often. I was excited to try it out as we have a perimeter gate and at night this helps me to feel more secure when I can’t exactly see in front of our home due to the gate.... the camera is mostly reliable, however the video quality is subpar and often freezes. I think for the price this shouldn’t be an issue.
