It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery runs out quickly so good thing I bought a back up. It’s not an instant log on to see who’s in front when I’m notified and at times I have to close the app multiple times just to see who’s outside.

Not that great of a product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn’t detect 100% of the movements of cars or people as it should. even with the pre roll and modifications of record length and zones it can use improvements for reaction speed and camera quality

Posted .Hello Tullydog,
We recognize your desire to have your home security up and running. As a consumer, you expect a product to perform optimally. Please know that we are here to take a deep look into this and ensure that it gets resolved quickly.
The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,
Antonio from Ring

Thank you for leaving a review. Ring takes your safety and security very seriously and we understand how important it is for your devices to operate as intended. Based on your review you seem to be having problems with the battery on your doorbell and live view connection. A little slow to answer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish when answering on local home wifi I could get the camera to go live faster. I have 100Mbit up and down and Wireless n network which is fast for all my other stuff. I end up missing people after they ring because it takes too long. Most cases some solicitor but now days when home I do not answer door for security reasons unless I know the person. Also if you just went live then scroll back to see history it takes several minutes to upload that recent live session. Wish there was more local storage in door bell for a couple days worth and did not have to goto ring server everytime. I have hardwired it.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not user-friendly on the installation side. I really wish the developers built a doorbell like this that was plug-and-play and had a protective stable covering. I purchased 5 and I am a little bit dissatisfied.

If you weren't already aware, we provide helpful articles on our website which may provide you with step-by-step guidance on installing your device, such as this one if you are installing it to an existing doorbell: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038525872-How-to-Physically-Install-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-without-an-Existing-Doorbell. Here you may find other relevant articles to your specific home environment, as well.

Pricey for what you get
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may work better if you hard wire it. Also you need your router close by or you will need a booster. Probably not worth the costs involved. I would probably rate it higher if it costs less.

Posted .Hi Patkmn,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus experience with us. We completely understand the criticality of having your device up and running, as this ensures you will be informed of activity in or around your home anytime. We strive to deliver quality devices that will provide you peace of mind.
We do agree that hardwiring your device has great benefits to the Ring device's battery life, as this provides a trickle charge to the battery during downtime of events and Live Views. Although, because this is a battery device, hardwiring your Ring Doorbell 3 Plus is not mandatory for the device to function. If you would like to hardwire the device, we recommend installing it to a transformer between 8-24 VAC. You can find more about this on our Help Center, here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039083431-How-to-Physically-Install-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-Plus-With-an-Existing-Doorbell.
We understand the impact that physical materials such as brick, stucco, thick glass, and metal have on the wifi connection to your Ring doorbell, which is why we offer a solution such as the Chime Pro as a wifi extender. It's important to know how the physical environment can impact your device, and how we can go about ironing these instances out. Oftentimes, wifi extenders and mesh networks have proven to resolve connection concerns.
Additionally, we provide a complete comprehensive list of the Ring Video Doorbells we provide, to compare these devices side by side. This allows you to see the great features of each device, find the one that works best for you and your environment, and determine which is within your personal range of value. We've added that article for your convenience, here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004668746-Ring-Video-Doorbells-Product-Comparison.
If you still have concerns regarding this, we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. This is a platform intended for Ring users, just like yourself, to create open discussions regarding their Ring experiences, provide suggestions or feedback, and more: https://community.ring.com/.

Not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy with this one. I had the cheap 69.95 one in my old house and it worked better then this one. I have reset and adjusted the zones and it either picks up everything or nothing.

Horrible security flaw
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Ring Doorbell 3 Plus and the coverage was spotty so I also purchased two Ring Chime Pro's. Shortly after installing the Chime Pro's I started receiving videos from another Ring user. I did not share my account nor did another person give me access to their account. This is a huge security flaw. Ring has done nothing to rectify this problem. PS I have been in contact with Ring for over a week, they have done nothing to fix the problem or do anything for me.

Posted .Hi DHoff,
The Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is designed to provide a quick and easy in-app setup process. We understand the importance of a seamless setup, as this allows you to start using your Ring device right away. We are delighted to hear that our community support team was able to help get your Ring device setup.
If by chance you experience setup issues again, please make sure you bring your Ring doorbell inside next to your router. This will help lessen any interference that may be occurring. Another quick tip, is rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, the devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.
To reboot these devices, follow the instructions below:
-Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don't just turn it off)
-If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them
-Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in
-Wait for your internet to be restored
-Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process for your Ring Doorbell 3 Plus.
We appreciate the value you have placed in owning a Ring Doorbell 3 Plus. For any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.
Sincerely,
Danielle with Ring

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still runs slow when trying to review video or watch live. Wouldn’t buy again. Only reason I didn’t return it is because I have other ring cameras that work great.

Not very reliable
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's ok when it works but it doesn't always record a video, it doesn't always see when a person is there, it gets triggered by moving objects outside of the set detection area (like cars in the street), and it just doesn't always work. It isn't particularly reliable and so I wouldn't recommend it as a defacto security system. It works ok... but ok isn't really good enough for what you pay for it.
