To me, it appears that it pixilates a lot more, and you will only get a decent shot if the motion is closer to the door

Still not what it's cracked up to be on the TV commercials. You get a motion alert but by the time you get the video whatever it was is long gone. At least it alerts if a package was delivered to porch.

When a person arrives, they are already ringing the doorbell by the time the ring doorbell gives us a notification.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your doorbell from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. If you have steps leading up to your Video Doorbell 3, try using a Wedge Kit to angle the Doorbell's view down https://ring.com/products/wedge-kit-for-video-doorbell-3. This will help focus the Doorbell on your front porch and walkway more than the road in front of your house.
