||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The set up was complicated because the app was down that day (as per Ring personnel), once working it shows the transit to your home. For live video or talking not so great since the lag of the internet connection will often show you the person leaving.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a cool device. Brings ease to your safety of your items and home. But then you have to purchase a plan to have your videos saved... plus the videos are very delayed in catching motion. Pretty pricey for the device that has a delay.

Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products and services. We truly value your feedback, because it helps us improve not only the product from a consumer standpoint but also our standards of service.
All battery-powered Ring devices, including the Video Doorbell 3 use passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect motion. Adjustable motion zones work by identifying visitors based on a change in temperature, and sending a signal to your smart device when it detects one. You can control the sensors' range and sensitivity using the controls in the Ring app. It is also optimized for low-power operations to save on battery power.
We would like to work with you directly to turn around your Ring experience. We are confident with a few changes, we can get the device to function as it is intended to and provide you and your family a sense of security. Cool Features but battery drains faster
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring Doorbell 3 has a lot of cool features but its not getting hardwired and its working on chargeable battery only. Posted .Hello Sandy,
Your experience with Ring is our top priority, and it is important to us that you receive useful information regarding battery life on your Ring Doorbell 3. We understand the importance of having your home security devices work properly, and we would like to offer our help! We agree that getting the most life from your Ring battery is essential, so that it can provide you with round the clock coverage with little downtime.
While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look or speak through your camera. As most of our Ring Doorbells are powered by lithium-ion batteries, it's important to note that at temperatures below 40 °F, the battery is less effective at holding a charge and may require more frequent recharges. Here is a helpful article that details more steps that can be taken to increase time between battery recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773-The-Battery-In-My-Ring-Device-Seems-to-Drain-Too-Fast.

Hardwired device is useless
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought Ring Video Doorbell 3 and electrical transformer to hardwire device to house electric figuring that a hardwired device negate issues around charging the battery on any frequency (since I travel often and live in a busy street). While on a business trip my new device battery died and the Ring doorbell was not usable. After talking with Ring, I found out the Ring Video Doorbell 3 uses the internal battery regardless of whether the device is hardwired or not, the hardwire only slow trickle charges the battery. If your device has more activity than the charge rate of the battery, the battery will still die and the unit will be unusable. VERY BAD DESIGN on the part of Ring.

Terrible for home security
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring partially works It missed people walking across my lawn. There is a delay in notification. Worse is their communication with others. You are supposed to be able to contribute to the community by notifying neighbors around you of criminal acts. I have posted no trespassing signs and no soliciting signs on my door. I had people pass these signs and criminally trespass. They had no car on the street or other vehicle to denote that they had legitimate business at my property. I’ve caught them walking from house to house past the no trespassing signs in both directions and knocking on the door with a no soliciting sign. I reported the event and ring customer support stated that it violated their guidelines and would refuse to post. I asked them to review the following below document page for section 5. They still refused to post the document. The persons passing through my property are guilty of criminal trespassing which is a misdemeanor and carries a $50-$500 fine. What is the use of a security cam video if you cannot share this with others. It is useful for speaking to people that you would like to communicate with; however, as for security you never get adequate view of the persons face and if they are stealing off your porch or breaking and entering someone can easily destroy the cam and you will lose all footage. I would recommend for security purposes putting up continual monitoring cameras and not purchasing ring. Although ring states they have continuous monitoring I have had multiple people enter my property in line of the camera site and the ring camera not capture the event. http://www.oklegislature.gov/cf_pdf/1995-96%20INT/hb/HB1413%20INT.pdf

Monthly subscription required! not on the box!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you do not purchase a monthly subscription to RING you are purchasing nothing more than a glorified doorbell as you can not see anything that happens outside your door if you aren't able to look exactly when it happens. My doorbell went off at 10:37 PM, I got a notification "There's motion outside your door" but when I got up this morning I couldn't view any footage from what triggered my doorbell last night. I called ring, my 30 day free trial expired and I cannot see any video except live video unless I subscribe to them. They do not tell you this in advance and, Best Buy has 15 day return policy (which is crap) so after owning this for 1 month, I'm stuck with a glorified doorbell that absolutly is not worth the money. Buyer beware! And if you can find it someplace with a better return policy then I would recommend it because 15 days is the crappiest return policy I've ever heard of and then they wanna charge you a restocking fee if you return within the 15 day time period. No more shopping at best buy. But i guess i have to keep my glorified doorbell. Ring = just say no.

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us.
We understand the importance of having all relevant information prior to purchasing a home security device. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell 3 are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would love to provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the features of the Ring Video Doorbell 3 with and without an optional Ring Protect Plan.
The Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as video doorbells, cameras, and alarms. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.
There are three Ring Protect plans available for your home devices, starting at $3.99 per month.
Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video from Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave an honest review of your experience with the Ring Video Doorbell 3. While we are happy to hear you are enjoying the benefits of Live View, we would also like to ensure you are getting the most connectivity from your device. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is Ring's next-generation doorbell designed with improved motion detection, including the all-new near zone. The near zone feature activates a horizontal motion zone in areas only 12 to 15 feet in front of your camera. Here are a few pro-tips for making the most of the motion detection feature on your Ring Doorbell 3.
1. Utilize the Near Zone feature.
2. Mount the Ring Doorbell 3 at about 48 inches (1.22 m) from the ground.
3. If you subscribe to a Ring Protect Plan, you can turn on People Only Mode within the Motion Settings to reduce the number of notifications you receive so that you only receive motion alerts caused by humans.
4. Set the Motion Frequency setting to 'Frequently', to ensure all activity is captured.
We would love to hear how this works for you, and any other feature requests you might have. When you provide your feedback, we want to assure you that you are heard, and it does make a difference to what we consider for product development. On our website, we offer a platform in which our Ring users may share and learn from their unique Ring experiences, through the Ring Community page: https://community.ring.com/.

Ring door bell may not be worth the hype
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring worked great or so we thought the first couple days. problem is we noticed that many times it does not catch the beginning of the motion or the person as they step on the porch. have reset it just to be sure to catch more motion and it seems to be working better. MAJOR problem is you get only 1 month free videos then you must PAY to keep seeing the videos or transfer the videos or send them to the police. for a purchase of over $200 one would think that as long as it works the owner should be able to keep the system working without having to pay more for the doorbell just to see who is on the porch!
