      Hi Pops.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like there is some confusion regarding the features of your device with and without a Ring Protect Plan. The Ring Protect Plan is a subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.

Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. Visit our support center for more information.

Hi FredyD, thanks for reaching out. Being able to rely on your Video Doorbell 3 for a sense of security and peace of mind is key. Make sure to fully charge the battery using the provided charging cable for about 8 hours. Once it is fully charged, insert that battery into the Video Doorbell and attempt to reconnect it. If these steps don't help, feel free to ask the Ring Community at https://community.ring.com/ to see what steps other neighbors have taken. All the best, Ashley from Ring. Ring

      Hello MrsStacy,

Thank you for leaving a review. We understand how important it is to ensure that the battery is holding its proper charge and how cumbersome recharging the batteries can be. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 followed the Ring Video Doorbell 2 (now discontinued) as the next generation of Ring doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the Video Doorbell 3 has dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity and improved energy efficiency.

After reading your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell 3 keeping a charge. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773.

Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that you have the best possible experience with your products and services. Home security is a 24-hour a day, seven day-a-week business, and Ring knows the importance of having access to your devices at the times you need them most. Not Worth It - Doesn't Capture All

It's ok. It does always capture people that go up to my door and/or porch. I've received packages, plus have had a package stolen with no video or image captured (that's how I know it doesn't work accurately) I guess it's good if someone rings your doorbell and you want to see who it is before answering. :\ However, I'd rather see who is on my porch without ringing the doorbell. In the future, I'd probably invest in a better product (maybe professional company), but would not purchase this again based off of my experience.

During this time, no one has been able to indicate its status, whether it will ever be delivered, cannot redirect its eventual shipment destination, nor can it be canceled. The only solace I have is that my credit card has not been charged, yet. I'll be hesitant in the future on ordering items as gifts because of its uncertainty and untimeliness.

Hi there, I know it's important to be able to rely on your Video Doorbell 3 to detect visitors at your door. If you find that the Doorbell starts recording when people are already leaving, this could be due to how you have your Motion Zones set up, or due to the wifi connection. First, review your Motion Zones and ensure you have the common pathways that visitors take to your door covered. Then you'll want to check the RSSi on the Device Health page, which will tell you how strong of a signal your Doorbell is receiving. For more information on that, check out this article https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. Hello Renee,

Your experience with Ring is our top priority, and it is important to us that you receive assistance and solutions to your concerns. We understand the importance of having your home security devices work properly, and we would like to offer our help! We agree that getting the most life from your Ring Doorbell 3's battery is essential, so that it can provide you with round the clock coverage.

While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look or speak through your camera. As most of our Ring Doorbells are powered by lithium-ion batteries, it's important to note that at temperatures below 40 °F, the battery is less effective at holding a charge and may require more frequent recharges. Here is a helpful article that details more steps that can be taken to increase time between battery recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773-The-Battery-In-My-Ring-Device-Seems-to-Drain-Too-Fast.

Don't get a ring doorbell. I just factory reset my phone, and because I don't own a computer I have to jump through hoops to get back into my account. I literally verified everything, but since I'm not logged in on another device, I have to call their outsourced customer service. I verified my name, email, phone number, code generated sent to my email, and now they want me to put my clothes on and go outside and ring the bell. My landlord is out there and I hate interacting with her annoying self, and I don't feel like getting out of bed. I'm going to do it later. But let's say you're disabled, or maybe not tech savvy this whole process is a joke. Go with Google nest, I never had issues with them, and now they offer a wireless option that ill be switching to. Ring acts like someone's holding you hostage to gain access, when in reality it's their stupid policies.

      Hello Ovidio,

Thank you for leaving a review. Ring understands how important it is for you to manage your account. In pursuit of our mission to make neighborhoods safer, when applying technologies to our business, we always consider our three pillars of customer security, privacy, and user control. Requesting your data should be a seamless process, and we would like to provide you the steps needed to, so you can take full control of your account.

Based on your review, it seems that you may have not set up the two-factor authentication feature in your Ring App. Two-Step Verification means that you can only access your Ring account by providing another piece of information besides a password. The first time you try and access a Ring product on a new device (phone or PC), you will have to enter a second piece of information in addition to your password. This second piece of information is a randomly generated code that will be sent to your mobile phone. Enter the code, and you will have access to your account. This means that in the future, you will have more secure access to your Ring products. Hi Thankyou,

We understand how imperative it is to have a Ring doorbell solution that works best for you and your environment. While the Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed with battery life longevity and advanced motion detection in mind, it's still important to consider other factors that may impact your battery life.

If your device is located in a high traffic area, try out our new Customizable Motion Zones to eliminate motion detection in areas you do not want monitored. Customizable Motion Zones will allow you to draw different shapes that are more dynamic than Adjustable Motion Zones. You can add up to three different Motion Zones. The following steps will walk you through setting up a Customizable Motion Zone on your device:

      - Tap the three lines on the top left of the screen
      - Tap Devices.
      - Select the battery device that you want to adjust
      - Once you’re on the screen with the image of your device, tap Motion Settings
      - Then tap Motion Zones
      - Tap Customize Motion Zones and then Continue
      - Use the slider to adjust motion sensitivity from minimum to maximum sensitivity

Once you’ve drawn your Motion Zones and adjusted the motion sensitivity slider, the changes will take effect the next time the device detects motion. To apply your changes immediately, walk in front of your camera to create a motion event.

Furthermore, as your satisfaction is of the utmost priority to us, we'd like to invite you to review this comparison chart to see if there is a better device to suit your needs: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004668746-Ring-Video-Doorbells-Product-Comparison.

      Hello Sasha,

Out of the box, your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed to keep you connected to your home in real time, no matter where you are. The optional Ring Protect Plan is available for as little as $3/month per device. With this, videos of each ring, motion, and live view event are stored in the cloud, allowing you to review, share, and save them at your leisure.

Without a plan, you will still receive real time motion and ring alerts, as well as have access to the Ring Live View feature. Here is a helpful link with more information regarding the Ring Protect Plan options available: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans.

If you are having trouble accessing Live View quickly enough to catch visitors, try downloading the Rapid Ring app. Rapid Ring app works in conjunction with your regular Ring app, but enables you to get notifications faster and respond faster.

We invite you to reach out to our online community forum, which can be found on our website, if any additional information is needed regarding the Ring Protect Plan. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback directly with Ring.

      Hello Momof2,

Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. We really appreciate your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve our products and their performance.

The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.

Also Ring Community was launched to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our neighbors. This online forum is divided into four categories: Product Boards, Ring Updates, Tips + Tricks, and a Moderators’ Corner. The Product Boards are where you can begin new topics with your questions or feedback; there is also a search option which helps you find topics that were already posted by other neighbors. Not that happy as of today. Difficult to work and not what I expected. It is more complicated to work the way I wanted or expected.

      Hello quality,

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed to provide a quick and easy in-app setup process. We understand the importance of a seamless setup, as this allows you to start using your Ring device right away. We strive to deliver quality devices that will serve you in the long run as we understand that you will be relying on them to keep you updated on activity at your home.

While not comprehensive, the three most common causes of failure to complete the setup (after entering an incorrect wifi password) are your Ring device being too far from your wifi router, having a problem with your internet connection, or some type of issue related to your wifi modem or router. During the setup it's best to have the Ring Doorbell 3 in the same room as your router.

We appreciate the time you've invested into getting your doorbell online. You have many choices when it comes to your home security, and we appreciate you selecting Ring. Ensuring you have the best experience with our product is our top priority. Please visit our community forum at https://community.ring.com/, as we have some additional solutions we'd love to share with you.

      Thank you,
      Alexis with Ring Ring

Battery dies pretty fast but overall it does what it suppose to do. We like the color and the install was a bit headachy.

      Hello ClarenceCarter,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Video Doorbell 3 experience with us directly. We appreciate it. Your experience with Ring is our top priority. We understand the importance of having your home security devices work properly, and we would like to offer our help! We agree that getting the most life from your Ring battery is essential, so that it can provide you with around-the-clock coverage.

While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell 3, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device.

We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring Doorbell 3 device to secure your home and know it's important that it meets your needs and expectations. For any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.
