Posted .Hi Michelle. I understand how your Video Doorbell 3 is key to your peace of mind as you rely on it to notify you of visitors at your home. If you find that your Doorbell is not detecting motion when someone is at your door, you might need to adjust some of the motion settings to find the combination that works best with your home. A great resource to consult for motion settings is our Help Center article here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Utilizing-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Devices. Posted .Hello Richard,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Here at Ring, we hear your concerns and are here to help. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. It is important to us that you have all the necessary information needed to ensure that Ring App is performing optimally for you, and that you are able to answer your motion alerts.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your doorbell from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. Please see our help center article for more information on the Rapid Ring App: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028023571-Rapid-Ring-App-Information.

Not worth the time spent trying to set it up.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup failed. Tried troubleshooting. Didn't find the secret sauce. WiFi signal strength was not the problem. Dual mode WiFi was not the problem. Even failed with an open guest network. It would find the local networks fine. Then after entering the password the error screen was vague but I believe it meant the signal strength was low. One time the error screen was bad password. I saw a mention that it would update the firmware after it was setup. Leads me to suspect the firmware is so buggy I won't ever get it working.

Here at Ring, we see your concerns and are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, (missing comma)
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble connecting your Ring Video Doorbell 3 to your home wifi network. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.
Here is a helpful article which walks you though additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.

If your Doorbell is unable to maintain a connection to your wifi network, a Chime Pro can help improve the connection by acting as a wifi extender. You can also try moving your wifi router closer to your Doorbell, as wifi signals don't travel well through walls and other building materials. Posted .Hi Nattydreadbwoy. Your Video Doorbell being up and running is important for your peace of mind and sense of security. If your Doorbell is frequently disconnecting from the wifi, it may not be receiving a strong signal from your wifi router due to distance or interference. A good place to start is to check what the RSSI is on the Device Health page, as this will give you an idea of how strong the wifi signal to your Doorbell is. For more information, check out this article in our Help Center: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. Sometimes moving the wifi router closer to your Doorbell, or making sure it is in an open and central area free from obstructions, can improve the signal. Posted .Hello Bama324,
We agree it's vital that your Ring Doorbell 3 detect accurate motion within the monitored zones, so you can be alerted when someone is at your home. This is Ring's next-generation doorbell designed with improved motion detection, including the all new near zone. The near zone feature activates a horizontal motion zone in areas only 12 to 15 feet in front of your camera. Here are a few tips for making the most of the motion detection feature on your Ring Doorbell 3:
1. Utilize the Near Zone feature.
2. Mount the Ring Doorbell 3 at about 48 inches (1.22 m) from the ground.
3. If you subscribe to a Ring Protect Plan, you can turn on People Only Mode within the Motion Settings to reduce the number of notifications you receive so that you only receive motion alerts caused by humans.
4. Set the Motion Frequency setting to 'Frequently', to ensure all activity is captured.
We would love the opportunity to assist with optimizing the motion settings. We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home and know it's important that it meets your needs and expectations. For any additional questions or settings concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.

Posted .Hello TyeBells,
We understand how important it is to ensure that the battery in your Video Doorbell 3 is holding its proper charge and how cumbersome recharging the batteries can be. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.
While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773. If you’ve adjusted these suggested settings and still notice poor battery life performance we do offer several alternate power solutions such as a Solar Panel for your doorbell, a plug in adaptor, or a Solar Mount Charger if your device gets 3-4 hours of direct sunlight a day. Here is more information regarding these helpful accessories: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061516532-Solar-Panel-for-Ring-Video-Doorbell-information and https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051708291-Ring-Plug-in-Adapter-2nd-Generation-.
