Horrible Brought this item along with total tech and when geek squad came they could not set up. I’ve been trying to get someone on the phone and it constantly hangs up on me. I would like to get it installed but I can not get geek squad on the phone. This is absolutely horrible. You go through all the prompts and then it hangs up on you.

      Hello Roomba,

Thank you for reaching out and providing this feedback. We appreciate you! As a consumer, having a seamless installation experience important. We believe all our devices should set up easily and quickly. The Ring Doorbell 3 runs on a removable, rechargeable, Quick-Release Battery Pack (included). But it can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz).

It is not compatible with halogen or garden-lighting transformers; and does not accept DC transformer/power supply. Ring does sell an AC transformer or a plug in adaptor if you are interested in trying those power solutions.

Please reach out to our support team if we can provide you any further information regarding the power requirements of this device, we're happy to help you!

      Thanks,

      Hello Batterypack,

Thank you for leaving a review. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products and services. We truly value our consumer’s feedback, simply because it helps us improve not only the product from a consumer standpoint, but also our standards of service. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with some insight into what may be causing the battery loss you are experiencing, within three days.

If you are noticing that the battery in your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is dying, we recommend adjusting your motion settings, as frequent motion alerts can drain your battery faster. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773.

      Hello Romma,

We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home. Ring understands the importance of having the Ring Video Doorbell 3 work as intended. It is a valuable device that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is the next generation of Ring Video Doorbells. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, and the Pre-Roll feature, the Video Doorbell 3 boasts dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity, improved energy efficiency, better screw strength and advanced motion detection.

After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

Here is a helpful article which walks you through additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.

      Hello Thrawn,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Video Doorbell 3 experience with us. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed to add to your home security. We completely understand the relevance of having your daughter's device up and running, as this ensures she can access the camera to check on activity around her home anytime day or night. We’d love to provide you some tips to ensure your device is consistently connected to her network.

Although they are rare, disconnects do occur and can usually be traced back to nearby interference or underlying network issues. Both of which are easily resolved with a few changes. A common solution to most network related problems is creating a guest network. You could then pair the Ring Doorbell 3 to the guest network to ensure the device remains online. Another thing to consider is wifi interference caused by nearby objects or materials. Things such as brick, metal, or stucco can diminish the wifi signal as it travels to your doorbell. Does she happen to have her doorbell mounted on any of these surfaces? Here is a helpful support article that explains these interferences in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength.

      Hello,

Your experience with Ring is our top priority, and it is important to us that when investing in our products they meet your need and expectations. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is compatible with most digital and mechanical doorbell systems powered by a transformer (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz).

A hardwired Ring Video Doorbell 3 does not actually use the power from the doorbell wires to run its operations. It relies on the battery for that. The trickle charge the Ring Video Doorbell 3 gets from being hardwired is solely used to charge the battery. In order to maximize the lifetime of the battery, the Ring Video Doorbell 3 waits for the battery to hit below 90% before using the wired power to recharge the battery.

We understand at this time you've exchanged the Ring Video Doorbell 3 for a Ring Video Doorbell Pro, and it's working amazing. Which we love to hear! If you have any additional questions please reach out to us at your earliest convenience. Our team of product specialists are always happy to help.

      Thank you,

      Hello Steve,

We appreciate you for sharing your feedback with us. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. We really appreciate your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve our products and their performance.

After reading your review, it seems that you are having some trouble hearing your Ring Video Doorbell 3. If this is the case, we recommend raising the volume of the doorbell in the Ring App. To do so, open the Ring App. Tap the device list, tap your Ring doorbell, tap device settings. From here, select general settings, and you can raise the volume here. We would also like to add that the Ring app will send you a push notification and alert when a Ring device is being rung. To utilize this feature, ensure that the volume on your device is on. For more information on getting alerts using the Ring app, please see our help center article:https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005889863-How-to-Use-Ring-App-Alert-Tones.

If you still have concerns regarding this, we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. Not worth the money. Extremely slow to respond. Does not pickup people but will pick up a spider or spiderweb. If you activate all the abilities the battery only lasts 4 days.

      Hi Cananiot,

We agree it's vital that your Ring Doorbell 3 detect accurate motion within the monitored zones, so you can be alerted when someone is at your door. This is Ring's next-generation doorbell designed with improved motion detection, including the all new near zone. The near zone feature activates a horizontal motion zone in areas only 12 to 15 feet in front of your camera. Here are a few pro-tips for making the most of the motion detection feature on your Ring Doorbell 3.

      1. Utilize the Near Zone feature.
      2. Mount the Ring Doorbell 3 at about 48 inches (1.22 m) from the ground.
      3. If you subscribe to a Ring Protect Plan, you can turn on People Only Mode within the Motion Settings to reduce the number of notifications you receive so that you only receive motion alerts caused by humans.

While the battery in your Ring Doorbell 3 can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look or speak through your camera.

Motion Frequency is a user-accessible control that allows you to adjust your motion detection protocols to provide a balance between consistent alerts and preserving battery life. This article will detail exactly what Motion Frequency is, and how you can best utilize it to optimize your Ring doorbell's motion detection capabilities: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency.
