You can also access, download, and share past Ring videos. Without this service, you will still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to the Live View feature.     Video is delay and you never get to see who is at the door. The mail man comes and it only records the back of him walking away. It's a waste of money.

    Didn’t even make it a year. Battery won’t charge. This is my fourth ring doorbell in five years. I’m gonna look elsewhere

The all new Ring Video Doorbell 3 comes equipped with enhanced dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi for improved connectivity. We absolutely agree that it is vital to be connected to video in a timely manner. This is an essential function when monitoring your home security.

      When you are having concerns with the functionality of your Ring Doorbell 3, such as delays in connecting to video, we first recommend investigating the network environment to ensure there is nothing preventing the Ring device from operating properly. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring device. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi strength:

      1. Physical obstructions
      2. Competing wifi networks
      3. Other electronics

      You can check your signal strength within the Ring app in the Device Health tile. The RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator. The RSSI measurement is all the factors that are hurting your signal at the receiving point. While RSSI is measured on a scale of 0 to -99, there won't ever just be one cause that is the culprit for a low RSSI rating. To get the most from your Ring Doorbell 3, aim for a signal of between -40 (near perfect) and -70.

      In the meantime, please use our Rapid Ring app. This app was designed to facilitate a speedy response when answering notifications. You'll need to use your original Ring App for all the settings functions built into your Ring device such as seeing past videos or adjusting motion settings.     The bell only worked for 6 minutes and did not come with a charging cord. They are coming tomorrow to fix it. The wait time and whole thing has been ridiculous.

      Regarding the motion detection feature on your Ring Video Doorbell 3, Ring products “see” the world through a network of three linked passive infrared (PIR) sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert.       After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
      Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
      If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
      Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
      Wait for your internet to be restored.

      Based on your review, it seems like the Ring Video Doorbell 3 field of view may not be facing the way you would like it to, in order to pick up motion properly. This doorbell device uses “PIR” or passive infrared sensors in order to capture motions. It sounds like you may benefit from installing a Ring Corner Kit to your device. The corner mount is an optional accessory used to angle your Ring Video Doorbell 15 degrees left or right. If you installed your Ring Video Doorbell 3 on a corner or adjacent wall, the corner mount can significantly improve motion detection and the device’s field of view.
      We would also recommend adjusting your motion settings.       The quickest way to speed up Live View is to start using our Rapid Ring app. This new app is intended to connect you to your video events in a much quicker way than before. To download the Rapid Ring app, please visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Once there, search for Rapid Ring and click on the blue logo with the white bell. Please note, you'll still need the original Ring app to make device changes and view video recordings.

      One of the great things about Ring is that you can integrate all devices in one location within your Ring app. This enables you to manage your home's security right at your fingertips. One thing to consider when adding multiple devices to your home, is how your wifi network will sustain your devices, and the performance you might expect from that.
