Thank you for bringing this to our attention by writing your review. The setup process on our devices is intended to be a quick and seamless process. Here at Ring, we understand how important it is for your devices to work as expected and are here to lend you some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is no longer able to be set up within the Ring App. When this happens, we recommend power cycling the doorbell device. To power cycle your doorbell, take the battery out, leave the battery out for 15-30 seconds and then re-insert the battery. You should also power cycle the mobile phone or tablet you are using to complete the setup process within the Ring App. Once done, you should be able to set up the device again.

It is imperative that your device detect accurate motion within your monitored zones, as this ensures you are notified when someone approaches your door with a package. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed to add to your home security.

Your Ring Video Doorbell 3 "sees" the world through a network of "PIR" or passive infrared sensors. The motion sensors have a much more focused field-of-view than the camera and this view is pointed downward to catch motion within five to 30 feet of the Ring Doorbell and exclude motion sources outside that range. It sounds like you would benefit from a corner kit installed behind your doorbell, this would eliminate the image of the wall you are receiving and optimize motion detection in your environment.
