Great Security Devices

All work well and have helped us feel safer in our home. It is nice to be able to see, and talk to, people as they come onto our property. We especially like the fact that we are able to know, and monitor, when we get packages delivered.

I couldn’t drill any holes in the door, and the ring doorbell was too big to be screwed into the wood panels. Thus, I didn’t have any place to install my ring doorbell. I looked at other models and I still had concerns… such as the ring doorbell that you can stick to your door—I have a fear of it falling and breaking; or worst, someone ripping it off and running away with it. If the ring doorbell was smaller and came with more wireless options, I think it will be great. Otherwise, I don’t know… I didn’t get to use it.

Ring Doorbell is a waste of time & money

Even with replacement devices. -34db at the doorbell. 12.25 feet from the wireless AP to the device. Application reinstalled 3 times. Device is not stable in ANY configuration. Been working with tech support for 8 + weeks, no resolution, even with a unit replacement. I would not recommend ANY Ring device for ANY purpose. Support team is COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE in being able to troubleshoot and resolve even the smallest of issues. I am a network engineer with 3 + decades of experience, as well as a cybersecurity specialist. The doorbell product is like the old Corvair...."unsafe @ any speed". Positively useless!

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is not staying online consistently. If your devices are continually falling offline, the problem is almost always related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. However, in rare cases, this can be caused by router settings.
Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. The 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1–11 within the United States and 1–13 in some other countries. In some cases, your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion. Changing the channel your router operates on can sometimes improve the connectivity of your Ring device. Dual Bands and clear views

The best part about the video doorbell 3 was it's dual band ability. If you know about WiFi you know 2.4 ghz gets really crowded. To be able to put this on 5 ghz. I get motion and ring alerts quicker. It is able to show live view and respond in less time. All things that help quickly keep an eye on where ever you placed it. If you have the original ring or video doorbell 2 I suggest you upgrade

The only bad thing I have found is no matter how we adjust the settings and zones it still picks up cars driving by our house. Tons of false alarms.

The video resolution was much clearer and the motion detection is more accurate which means you capture almost all activity. Also, the video playbacks don't freeze up anymore which I love. That happened so often with my old Ring. So glad I upgraded after 3 years!
