I can see who is at the door before answering it. I can check on deliveries too. It alerts me when it detects motion, so I can check out what's happening outside. So many good things about this camera. Glad I finally got one.

Can use with both battery and home electricity. Has weathered the cold, heat, and rain in Jacksonville, FL. Recommend purchasing additional battery if cannot be connected to home electricity to allow for continuous usage. Eventually will purchase the Ringer outdoor spot light for added security.

The picture quality is great as well big difference. The only draw back is that I used the angled shim to face the camera down because of front door steps, when the mail carrier comes it doesn’t detect motion sometimes. I’ve tried different detecting zones to troubleshoot. It’s a hit or miss.

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 followed the Ring Video Doorbell 2 (now discontinued) as the next generation of Ring doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the Video Doorbell 3 has dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity and improved energy efficiency. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

Me either. Well even with satellite internet this door bell still works great!! I can watch live, it connects fast, and stays charged long! So happy with it. It even came with 2 different color face plates, a mini level and a screw driver. Was very pleasantly surprised
