This doorbell features 1080 HD Video with night vision, two-way audio, enhanced wifi, and advanced motion detection. Out of the box, your Ring Doorbell 3 will keep you connected to your home in real time, no matter where you are.
While subscribed to one of our optional Ring Protect Plans, you will be able to access videos from every ding, motion and live view event for up to 60 days (in the US). Allowing you to view them at your leisure. As beneficial as these plans are for viewing past or missed activity, they are not required to access the features mentioned above.

Easy to install

I hardwired mine, and it works great. The internal battery is slow to charge, and you have to find the right sensitivity for the settings.

So far - so good!

We didn’t have Chime but it seems to work with the doorbell we had. No problems so far!

I love having the option to see when my packages arrive and if there’s any motion in the area. I don’t have the chime but I will be looking into getting it soon.

After some fiddling with the limits of the view I was no longer notified every time a car drove by.

It was very easy to set up and we always know who is approaching the apartment.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn’t realize how important security was to me until i purchased this door bell. it’s single handed my made traveling feel a lot more stress free and i can now order packages without fear. if they try to steal my goodies i’ll just yell at them through the built in speaker system provided. (although setting it up was a bit of a hassle because i’ve never installed a doorbell before, let alone a futuristic one) given that the subscription isn’t free at such a premium price, gotta remove a star for that. but it’s definitely a must have if you’re in a highly populated area or if you travel a lot ! It’s like having your own watch bird to tell you when anything moves in front of your premises !

The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell 3 are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not detecting motion as expected. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
