Being able to save and download video is a valuable feature of the Ring Video Doorbell 3. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring devices rely on both your upload and download internet speeds to send and retrieve videos from the server. If either or both of those functions are too slow, this can significantly affect download times. That's why it's important to test your internet speed in the area around your Ring device.
To test your internet speed, do the following:
Bring your mobile device to the area where your Ring Video Doorbell 3 is installed.
Open a Web browser on your mobile device and go to Bandwidth Place.
Click on the Begin Test button in the center of the gauge to start the test.
After the test is done, look at the small table under the gauge. The number in the first column is the download speed. The number in the second column is the upload speed.
As a general rule, most Ring devices function best when upload and download speeds are around 2 Mbps or greater. If your speeds are much slower than that, you might try moving your router closer to your Ring device or (if necessary) calling your internet service provider to discuss getting faster internet speeds.

They don't last long and you will be charging it every other week. Doesn't work that well with Amazon Echo devices although they say they do. Using your cell or other app to answer the door is problematic. Customer service is available but they don't follow up when you have a problem. KEY NOTE: If you want to record your doorbell video history, you have to pay a monthly charge for it. Otherwise, you will ONLY see LIVE video when motion is detected or someone rings your doorbell. After that, the video is gone.

A potential cause of battery drain is having a poor wifi signal. The battery drains as the doorbell repeatedly attempts to connect to your wifi network. This could also explain the issues when answering the door.

Wotks great but had to modify

Once we did that, the camera view was great. Nice clear picture and we love the speaker/mic feature.
