I had to take it back and exchange it for the Ring pro doorbell because it was narrower and fit where I wanted to put it.

Not good. This Ring installed flawlessly and has worked great since.

I wanted to wire in the doorbell and not operate just by battery, so I ended up having to hire someone to install. Not as easy as I hoped. Other than that, it works great! The image is very clear.

It does not pick up on everything if someone ran up to your door and ran away, the ring will not pick up on it. If a car was the drive by your house and this product is at your front door. It will pick up the car most likely as a last second thing. The app for the product is great. There is no problems with the app. The problem is the product itself. You can edit the zone of where you want it to pick up the most activity yet and I guarantee you’re gonna miss some things.

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is designed to detect motion based on your specifications so that you are notified of all motion events that matter to you. We would love the opportunity to work with you to get your device performing optimally for your home's environment.
It sounds like you have some concerns with your device's motion detection. If your device appears to be missing a lot of motion, you may want to check the motion frequency setting. The motion frequency control allows you to reduce alerts from repetitive patterns of motion or increase alerts so you get notified about the motion events that matter to you.
Follow these steps to adjust the motion frequency:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Motion Frequency.
Select Frequently, Regularly or Periodically.
Frequently: Motion detection always stays active. Shortest battery life.
Regularly: Motion detection takes a short break after each Motion Alert. Medium battery life.
Periodically: Motion detection takes a longer break after each alert. Maximum battery life.
Tap Save in the upper-right corner.
The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
