Theres a lot of configuration options if yiu decide to go the full out home security path. I currentlh have the Ring doorbell and i set up one of my Ring floodlights. It’s extremely useful. Also theres a community network of people that share useful information about crimes in the area and strange happenings. I would recommend it.

Minus side is the field of view vertically is not that great. We can't see what if anything was left on the step by delivery people. Ring seems to focus on width vs height. Also during the past VERY cold weather had the doorbell stopped \working at times and drained the battery even though it is hardwired. Found out Ring Doorbell won't charge in very cold weather and may stop working altogether. not good.

If you have a few stairs leading up to your front door or are not able to see your doormat area in the camera's field of view, we would like to suggest installing a Ring Wedge Kit behind the doorbell.
