By having one installed, you can expect up to 1080p HD video, adjustable motion detection with varying sensitivity, and a seamless in-app setup process. Our team is here to provide you any guidance that we can.

When video quality is less than 1080p HD, the issue is almost always traced back to the wifi signal in use. First, it's important to know whether your internet package is optimized for video conferencing. If not, your video quality will struggle to reach full 1080p HD. You can reference your internet package for more details.

You should also reference the Device Health section of your Ring app for more info. Here, you can test your internet connection, review the RSSI reading, and find links to common solutions on improving your connection to your Ring device.

Please note: your RSSI reading should be between 50 - 60, and be displayed in green text. If yours is higher than that, and in red text, please select the question mark next to it for more info. You can learn more below.

In order to adjust your device sensitivity, you'll need to access your Motion Settings in the Ring app.

To Find Motion Settings:

Tap the three lines on the top left of the screen.
Tap Devices.
Select the battery device that you want to adjust.

Once you’re on the screen with the image of your device, tap Motion Settings. You'll see the Motion Sensitivity option on this page.

Prior to attempting a Ring device setup, please ensure that all requested permissions have been granted to the Ring app. This will ensure the setup process will function as intended. All setups should be attempted near your Ring doorbell to ensure the app can connect to the device. The Ring app will guide you through step-by-step for an easy setup.

Ring Video Doorbell 3 comes with everything you need to securely mount it to the wall. If you wish to avoid drilling holes, we recommend you use our No-Drill Mount accessory. You can learn more below.

We know that every second counts when connecting to live video, as this ensures you can see and speak with visitors. If you are experiencing delays in connecting to video, we will want to look at the connection between your wifi router and the Ring device. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring Doorbell 3. We’d love to provide you with solutions to help troubleshoot this issue.

In the meantime, please use our Rapid Ring app. This app was designed to facilitate a speedy response when answering notifications. You'll need to use your original Ring app for all the settings functions built into your Ring device such as seeing past videos or adjusting motion settings. To download the Rapid Ring app, please go to the App Store (for iOS devices) or the Play Store (for Android devices) and search for “Rapid Ring”. If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine. This can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your Router. If you are experiencing poor video or audio quality when viewing both the live and recorded video in the Ring application, the problem is almost always some sort of wifi issue like signal or data loss. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router.
