We have not been able to wire it in yet but the rechargeable battery is nice. The biggest negative is that it doesn't always connect to the app. When it works it's great.

Easy to install, decent picture and price. Other products are more expensive.

Ring created the smart doorbell market, and it continues to be the leader. If you have opened up a product from Apple or Nest, you will feel right at home. Everything you need to instal this is in the box, and the instructions are very clear. This model does not require a wired doorbell, which means it can work anywhere, but the unit needs to be recharged every month or so, which can be a hassle.

I like this product a lot because of the security it provides. Set this product with your existing wires for continued monitoring. The camera works very well and I get notifications on the spot. I wish I would have waited for the second version. Great way to bring wireless gadgets to your house!!

Great camera, easy setup, and easy ring app. My wife really enjoys it

I recently purchased this doorbell to enhance my home security. It was easy to get started after downloading app on my iPhone. It is equipt with motion detection, night vision and two way audio. I am alerted anytime someone come on my porch. Mailman, delivery person or visiting guess. When when motion is activated you get an alert on your phone and video clips of 30second recordings are recorded with date and time stamps. Very clear pictures

Works MOST of the time. The Live View feature is VERY inconsistent. Overall, I like it. Needs improvement though.

Okay, now I know this sounds like a spoiled IoT brat complaining, but man, this thing feels unfinished. The responsiveness to motion will typically catch people as they walk away from my house or the cars on the road if I pump up the motion sensitivity. On top of that, I'm typically unable to answer through the app before people walk away. So I can't say that I've actually used this as promoted to talk to guest in the months since I've installed it. The Live view was a welcomed addition. I would check out the newer offerings from other companies before buying this one... also really poor integrations at the moment, no IFTTT.

Good Quality product, very easy to install and set up

You really need to have a fast internet connection in order to use this product. I only have 10Mbps and the video is very choppy, and live video in non-existent most of the time. I feel that my internet connection is the majority of my problem, so I can't say the product does not work, it just doesn't work as well as it should. The motion detection is pretty good, but mine mostly catches things just going out of the frame. There is plenty of room for improvement.

This doorbell exceeded my expectations. The wide angle lens captures guests with excellent clarity, it comes with motion tracking and a subscription recording service, and if you have it wired to a bell in your home circuit, it charges and you can access the camera any time. You can also use it as an answering intercom and talk to people through it without ever opening the door, great for avoiding solicitors. It does have some flaws, however - Motion tracking can take a bit to respond to someone in front of the camera. Often I have opened the app on alert to motion and whoever was walking in front of it is already gone by the time the movement triggered the doorbell camera. When I first got the doorbell, on Android phones it would alert when someone rang the doorbell, but opening the alert would not produce the video feed reliably. That being said, Ring was aware of the problem and it was patched a couple days later, so clearly the team is supporting this device well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to someone looking to add smart features to their home, or wants an added layer of camera security.

Algorithms need further tuning to avoid false detections and product has potential for enhanced recognition possibilities.

I bought this item for my husband as a gift. He loved it so much we went back out to Best Buy to purchase a second one for our other door! I like how you can adjust the range of motion sensitivity. The camera quality is decent. Its not crystal clear but it is clear enough to get the job done. We've had them for about a month (wireless) and they are just about ready to be charged for the first time. Easy install as well, I did it myself.

I bought this for a new office. Our lobby will be under construction for a few months so we needed a solution to allow visitors and delivery people to notify us that they are outside a locked door. This was easy to set up and it is easy to use. Several people have the Ring app on their phone. Most days the office manager responds to the door, but other people can easily cover for her when necessary by turning on notifications on the phone app.

The response time is lacking. Other than that, we have it our on our porch and have been grateful to know the constant activity in front of our house. If you're causing the motion you can snooze it for an amount of time. Sometimes the ring app won't let you see the live video...the app and setting the device up is rather tedious and annoying. We wish it was simpler!

This was a second purchase of this item..... for the back door.... the service video lags a bit no matter how much bandwidth you throw at it but it does alert when it counts!
