A friend of mine bought one and I immediately thought it was a great idea, especially if you are getting packages throughout the day, or having cleaning crews or workers coming in. She caught workers slacking off on it and was able to immediately speak to them through it's speaker. I still need to put mine up, but I'm looking forward to seeing what it captures.

Easy installation, easy to use, and what a smart idea

Installation was easy. Definitely a good starting point for security.

Video is good, easy to install and works great! This is my second one, replaced the older one only because the weather had corroded its looks! It was 4 yrs old and still working!

The doorbell has decent video but not the best audio.

So far this product is good I haven't seen any flaws in the video or any aspect of the installation it's pretty good the only thing I didn't like is that there is a subscription you have to sign up to you in order to store your videos

I purchased the ring doorbell for my mother's home and now I have a peace of mine because I can monitor her house as well as my own residents from anywhere. The Ring is one of the best purchases I've made in along time. I have demo my device to several of my co-workers who also have purchased the ring doorbell and ring floodlight camera system for their homes.

I have been waiting for the Ring Doorbell to go on sale for a while. I saw that Best Buy had a really great deal and I quickly purchased it. I went on line and saw the Ring Doorbell video and it seemed pretty easy to install. I also went on You tube and saw other videos from others that have hard wired installations. I figured I could install it myself. The toughest part of the installation was drilling a hole through the cement wall. The Ring Doorbell comes with a tool that you add to your drill to make some holes through the cement for the nails. I had to turn the light breaker off and unscrew my doorbell wires. All of which came very easy to me after viewing the videos. The whole process took me about less than 1/2 hour.

This is s great buy for the money. Really gives a sense of security!

The unit worked fine with my existing mechanical bell chime. Notifications works well. Cloud recording worked fine for most part, one time video played for three seconds and then only showed frozen photo. My biggest complain about this unit is the poor quality of the recording in the cloud, videos do not look 720p in quality they look worse than SD 480. I am using my phone to preview recording which is about 5 inches, if I was to play the videos back on a large screen tv it would be horrible. Second big complaint unlike most other companies Ring does not provide a free plan not even for 24 hours, so to view recordings you must pay for their service. Three stars is fair. If the recorded images on their doorbell 2 version with 1080p is better then I would go that route, but honestly I am not sure how much better it would be since I am not getting 720p quality of the claimed 720p on this model.

Was exactly what we wanted. Setup was easy and works l like a charm.

Ring is great because it gives you the option of using wireless (which i used because i will move in 2 years) or wired (which is nice because you don't have to worry about charging it). It works wonderfully with great night vision, and when you get a motion detection it offers you an option to immediately silence notifications for a period of time with one click. Installation was also easy and anyone can do it. My only gripe is that you have to pay monthly fees for cloud storage, it's only $3 a month for the cheapest option, but it does add up while many other companies like Arlo provide a small amount of data for free.

I have been watching Ring for some time. You don't want to jump in and find out that it won't be supported in the future. My front door is in an entryway that you can't see from any window and I have steel French doors with no peep hole and I didn't really want to put a peep hole. This is the best. I have already gotten used to using it and its only been a couple weeks. You get 30 days free recording and you will have to pay for the service. It is very reasonable at $3 a month or $30 a year so I wasn't put off by the fee. Unlimited recording. If someone steals it you will have a recording of it and Ring will replace it for free. I thought now was a great time to buy the 1st gen since the new edition came out and there is a price drop. Instant peace of mind. Always know what's going on at your front door.
