Easy installation, easy to use, and what a smart idea

The doorbell has decent video but not the best audio.

I've had this product for a little over a year and overall, it works great. Motion detection is quick and I promptly receive a notification. I also purchased an Echo Dot with this as I did not have the correct wiring to hardwire during installation. I will say, however, there are times where it does not detect motion. Specifically, it will not detect people (myself) when walking by. Annoyingly, however, it will pick up traffic motion 50 feet away. I've messed with the settings multiple times and even bought a wedge to angle the Ring camera down, but every now and then it still picks up traffic.

So far this product is good I haven't seen any flaws in the video or any aspect of the installation it's pretty good the only thing I didn't like is that there is a subscription you have to sign up to you in order to store your videos

I purchased the ring doorbell for my mother's home and now I have a peace of mine because I can monitor her house as well as my own residents from anywhere. The Ring is one of the best purchases I've made in along time. I have demo my device to several of my co-workers who also have purchased the ring doorbell and ring floodlight camera system for their homes.

The unit worked fine with my existing mechanical bell chime. Notifications works well. Cloud recording worked fine for most part, one time video played for three seconds and then only showed frozen photo. My biggest complain about this unit is the poor quality of the recording in the cloud, videos do not look 720p in quality they look worse than SD 480. I am using my phone to preview recording which is about 5 inches, if I was to play the videos back on a large screen tv it would be horrible. Second big complaint unlike most other companies Ring does not provide a free plan not even for 24 hours, so to view recordings you must pay for their service. Three stars is fair. If the recorded images on their doorbell 2 version with 1080p is better then I would go that route, but honestly I am not sure how much better it would be since I am not getting 720p quality of the claimed 720p on this model.

Ring is great because it gives you the option of using wireless (which i used because i will move in 2 years) or wired (which is nice because you don't have to worry about charging it). It works wonderfully with great night vision, and when you get a motion detection it offers you an option to immediately silence notifications for a period of time with one click. Installation was also easy and anyone can do it. My only gripe is that you have to pay monthly fees for cloud storage, it's only $3 a month for the cheapest option, but it does add up while many other companies like Arlo provide a small amount of data for free.

Was exactly what we wanted. Setup was easy and works l like a charm.
