Only tools required would be a Phillips head screw driver and possibly a small drill depending on the mounting surface.

We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The Ring Protect Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the optional Ring Protect Plan. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

This version cannot be fitted with the new solar charging mount frame you cannot use the 2 battery pack inter-changeable batteries for being able to charge without removing the cover. This version does work with a solar panel charger, but, be aware the base plate mounting frame does not have a cut out to run the cord into the back of the unit for solar charging. You have to run the wire under the mounting base plate. The Ring Pro works with all the charging applications offered and has some application features that this 2020 Release does not. Over all I'm very satisfied with my value with affordable pricing purchase. At the end of your 30 trial with the app and cloud storage (for history of recordings) you will need to pay 30.00 per year per additional unit purchased in order to be able to retrieve your video door bell recordings.
