Posted .Hi Darrick.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased to read that you are enjoying your new Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.)! At Ring, we believe in keeping people close to what’s important. That is why we are driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home and empower you to connect with your visitors from wherever you are. Together, we’ll make neighborhoods safer!
We recommend following these instructions when installing your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.):
For the best results, mount it around 1.2 meters above the ground.
There are two types of screws included in the product packaging:
The four wood screws are used to secure the mounting bracket to your door or wall.
The two star-shaped security screws are used to tighten the screws into the bottom of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) faceplate to help deter theft.
You'll need to install wall anchors when installing on stucco, brick, or concrete.
Grab 4 of the wall anchors from Bag A. Using your Ring doorbell as a template, mark 4 drill holes on the wall. Use a 1/4" masonry drill bit (not included) to drill the holes, then insert the four wall anchors.
Install the mounting bracket.
Using a Philips head screwdriver, drive the mounting screws from Bag A into your wall (or into the anchors, if installed) until they are flush with the mounting bracket.
Attach your Ring doorbell to the mounting bracket.
Hook the slot on the rear of your Ring doorbell onto the tab near the top of the mounting bracket.
Then, let the doorbell pivot down to sit flush on its bracket.
Secure the doorbell.
CAUTION! If you use the wrong screws to secure the doorbell, you could damage the battery during installation, create a fire hazard, and be seriously injured.
DO NOT use any screws other than the included short security screws when securing your Ring doorbell to the bracket.
Use the star-shaped end of the included screwdriver to insert and tighten two of the security screws from Bag B into the bottom of your Ring doorbell.
If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.), please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.
Thank you,
Amilia from Ring.

Planned Malfunctioning
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, everything is great. Good connection, quick notifications… and then, over time, the connection gets worse and worse until it “looses the WiFi” even though nothing has changed about the network. Then, as if by magic, you’re offered the opportunity to buy a “Ring Pro Range Extender” for an additional $50. Shady, even for Amazon. Save yourselves the hassle and buy something else.

Posted .Hello SadDoorbelllesCondoOwner,
We are happy to have you as a part of the Ring Community, and thank you for sharing your Ring experience with us. When using the Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release), one should be able to connect to the camera in a matter of seconds. This counts when initiating a Live View as well as when motion is detected or someone pushes the doorbell button.
Rest assured, our team is here to help diagnose and resolve this together. Although distance plays a big part in the overall connectivity and quality of the live video, there are other factors to consider. Nearby interference, network limitations, or a combination of both can also affect your doorbell's ability to connect to quality video in a timely manner. For example, if your doorbell is mounted on a surface that is made out of heavy-duty materials, an otherwise strong signal may diminish as it passes through those. Materials such as metal, brick, and cement could prove to be a challenge. Do you happen to have your doorbell mounted on or near something like this?
Our priority is ensuring you to have a device you can rely on to keep you connected to activity around your home. Please reach out to us today at https://community.ring.com/ for additional tips and support. Ring Community launched in March 2019 to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our customers. This peer-to-peer forum allows our neighbors to share their feedback and experiences to assist each other in resolving their concerns.
Thank you,
Alexis with Ring

Not that good, read small prints.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You have to pay monthly even to record videos after 1 month trial. It wasn't mentioned clearly. Even cheaper competitions save video history without extra pay. I wouldn't buy it again. Picture and video quality not better than others. Too pricey.

Posted .Hi Peter!
At Ring, we believe it is imperative that our customers receive all pertinent information regarding additional benefits they have the option to subscribe to, such as the Ring Protect Plan. Having this information allows one to make the best purchasing decision for their needs.
We do provide information about the optional Ring Protect Plan on our Ring website, which you can find here: https://ring.com/protect-plans?undefined. Your Ring App will also notify you during the free 30-day trial of our cloud plan, as well as in an email after a successful setup of a Ring device. With the optional Ring Protect Plans, you have the ability to review, save and share your video recordings for as little as $3 a month. Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for up to 60 days (in the US). Without a plan, you will still receive real time motion and ring alerts, as well as have access to the Ring live view feature.
We would love to look into the concerns you are having with the resolution of your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release), as you should be experiencing a clear 1080p HD resolution video. From our Help Center, you can find great articles with helpful tips and tricks that might assist you in resolving video concerns, such as the one linked here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/205348254-Poor-Video-Quality-Troubleshooting.
We would love to get connected with you as soon as possible, to address these concerns together!

Could be better
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the floodlight this is not the greatest. Having to charge it is a bit annoying and for some reason it does not detect motion the way the flood light does. There are events that it does not capture at all or will capture very late so you miss some things. I’ve tried everything like the setting the zones and it still doesn’t capture motion the way I want it to like the flood light does. I just didn’t want the flood light blinding my neighbors all night so I decided to just get the doorbell, but I may have to add other cameras for better security in the front.
