This is a replacement for my 1st generation model. I am quite pleased with it. Improved picture quality as well as Improved battery life.

Easy to install and set up, and navigate,good quality video

I was scared to purchase initially because I wasn’t sure if I would need expert assembly or not, but I didn’t! No hardwiring required. Really simple to install. You simply download the app, scan the QR code and it pairs with the device…basically sets itself up. It comes with everything you need including the screws to position it at the door.

The Ring Video Doorbell is very easy to install and the camera offers great video. Being able to see who is at your door is great.

Let start with the pros: great unit, does what it suppose to do and as well the ring lights up for usage. Under the camera you have two Red led that turns on for night vision in which does not interfere with the unit at all. The ring does turn White at night for visibility to ring the door bell, blue when live view is active. On the back it does have two screen terminals for hardwiring, simply hook the wires for continuous power. Installation is a breeze if you have the right tools depending on the material you are drilling 1/4" drill bit will be required and a level if you are mounting the unit. Before usage you will need to charge it fully specially if you are hardwiring the unit. If you want to know the battery life on The video quality is pretty good, short range intercom is pretty good. When the doorbell is pressed, your phone will vibrate if put on silence or will ring on your phone if you have the volume on. Cons: I presume depending on your internet connection there is a delay on the notification when someone is at your door by a few seconds. If you have an existing chime at your home your will need an upgrade in order to make it function. I have a father with hearing problems so this knocked off a star. If you plan on upgrading your existing chime you can google the compable hard wired chimes. This adds on to labor and as well expenses. When you get the alert there it takes about 2 or 3 second to load into a clear video, it does load a bit pixelated before it becomes clear.

Bought these for my self and my children for Christmas eight I bought Two did not work took back to Best Buy said I had to contact Ring I contact Ring they said go back to Best Buy get new ones Best Buy would not take them back and give me new ones . I had to call Ring go through the set up again to show them they did not work.Ring did finally replace them with new ones. I was Disappointed in Best Buy I felt like I was getting pushed back to Ring that they didn’t want to deal with the product. Best Buy would not help all they kept telling me is they can not give me new ones go to Ring. The door bells work real good easy to set up on your own . I also purchased the alarm systems to work with them and that works real good and easy to set up . Pleased with the products but not the way Best Buy handled my problem with the products I purchased at their store .

I replaced an existing doorbell that stopped working well. This one was easy to install and it works fine and provides good quality video and audio.
