We understand how important privacy is when it comes to your home security. Customer privacy, security, and control are foundational to Ring. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like you have some concerns regarding the privacy features of your device. Ring offers the ability to disable audio recording and/or video recording (if you have a Ring Protect plan) in the Ring app. You can also disable motion detection to prevent recording or use Ring modes.

The Ring app also offers privacy features to comply with applicable local and national laws and respect your neighbors' privacy. A Privacy Zone is an area within your Ring device camera's field-of-view that you can define as off-limits. The Ring app won't display anything within that area in Live View or record anything within that area.

You can set up to two rectangular-shaped Privacy Zones. Each zone can be compared to a small piece of tape over the doorbell or security camera lens. The recorded video in these Privacy Zones is blocked out and cannot be recovered. A Privacy Zone only prevents recording in that space. It will not prevent the triggering of motion detection. I would be happy to address your concern regarding the issue that you are experiencing with the delay in motion detection of your Ring Video Doorbell. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app. To optimize your motion zones and ensure that the device will detect accurately, please follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the relevant device.
Tap Motion Settings.
At the top, tap Edit Zones or scroll down to tap Camera Motion Zones.
Note: If you are using a battery-powered device, you may need to toggle on Advanced Motion Detection under Advanced Settings before you can add customizable Motion Zones.
To adjust an existing Motion Zone: tap the Zone you want to adjust, then drag the points of the Zone to do so. Tap Save.
To add a new Motion Zone: tap Add Zone and drag the points of the Zone. Tap Save.

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app.

To enable Smart Alerts:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.

Luckily, there are a few different options available to manage the alerts you receive from your Video Doorbell. The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release) is a battery powered device. By using one, you can expect timely Ring alerts, accurate motion detection and the ability to see and speak with visitors. We're happy to help you get the most out of your Ring doorbell.

This particular model charges via the included USB cable. When removing to charge, the mounting bracket will remain fixed to the wall. Once charged, one can simply reattach the doorbell to its bracket and fasten the security screws.

For those who prefer a Ring Quick Release Battery, we recommend the Ring Video Doorbell 3 or Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus.

Hi savvyone. It's important to be able to rely on your Video Doorbell to see who is at your door. If your Doorbell is disconnecting from the internet, try reviewing the information in our Help Center article here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. The connection to your Doorbell may not be stable, which can cause it to disconnect from the wifi. Moving the router closer to your Doorbell or using a wifi extender can improve the stability of the connection. The Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as doorbells, cameras, and alarms. The Ring app will send real time notifications, so you are aware of who is on your property regardless of subscription status. Rest assured, we are here to provide you more information about what is included with a subscription.

With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
