It's nice to have the peace of mind ring gives you. Insanly easy to set up. I wass worried about the battery life but it's insane how long it lasts. I definitely recommend this.

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started using Ring Ring Video Doorbell 2 (2nd Gen) a few days ago and I feel so happy and satisfied with this product because it is so easy to set up/install with the option of using battery or hardwired power, I will be able to see/talk with clarity with whoever comes to my door when I am away from my home and other great features like weather protection, night vision, record/capture, motion alerts and live view so I can definitely have a peace of mind home away from home. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Not only am I able to view my property it picks up my neighbors house as well. Which they are grateful for. It has a really great picture. I was even able to reply to a solicitor at the door while I was at work. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

It recharges through a USB port just like a typical smartphone. Did have a problem connecting it to our existing doorbell system, but it chimes and notifies to your phone, so it's really not a problem. I do need to get a corner kit since it mounts next to a wall (recommended if you have the same circumstance), it will increase the field of view.

For example, there is no delay in notifications if someone walks by a couple times within a short span of time, so you can have multiple notifications for someone walking in and back out. Other than a few minor things I’m overall pleased with this camera.

We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion detection issue that you mentioned in your review. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
