I bought the less expensive version that needs to be taken off and charged periodically. This is easy for me to do, so i felt no need for a solar charger.

Purchase this to replace a failing unit but this last unit lasted for years. Has been working without issue.

All battery-powered Ring devices, including the Ring Video Doorbell, use passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect motion. Adjustable motion zones work by identifying visitors based on a change in temperature, and sending a signal to your smart device when it detects one. You can control the sensors' range and sensitivity using the controls in the Ring app. It is also optimized for low-power operations to save on battery power.

Good, but don't want a monthly fee.

If I can keep it without the fee nI will. the neighbors cat keeps setting it off,. Not worth paying to see that.

Very convenient to have and you can check from every place you are, if something is wrong you can call the police

The geek squad could not due. There fore I have to take it down and charge battery maybe every 2 months.

The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) is designed to be installed with existing doorbell wiring or wireless. Disconnect power to the installation area at your circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring. This will be my 3rd ring doorbell. I now have 2 wireless doorbells and they don’t disappoint. This kit didn’t come with wedges unfortunately FYI.

We had several packages be stolen from our front door( Go Pro 7 and the packages got stolen twice) and this has been incredible to have and it has helped us keep log of all our packages! Not a single one stolen since we installed!

I sinply rebooted jt and back fo normal

I gave it 4 stars because of the frequency I have to charge my camera (every 3-4 weeks). Which was different than advertised. I don’t think they tested the battery life well for busy cities (Miami, New York, San Fran)
