Ring for front door

The only drawback that I had was when we were out of town we lost power and internet. The cameras went offline and never recorded for the 4 days it was offline I had to reset both cameras, Gen 1 & Gen 2, so pretty much useless when you lose power and are not at home to connect to my I phone.

Visual and vocal quality is outstanding The opportunity is in charging the battery You have two small screws under the unit you must remove without losing them then detach the entire unit to plug it in to charge and then remount it without losing the screws or the screwdriver

I gave it 4 stars because of the frequency I have to charge my camera (every 3-4 weeks). Which was different than advertised. I don’t think they tested the battery life well for busy cities (Miami, New York, San Fran)

I feel secured when packages are delivered to house.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for a the purpose of viewing who is at your door. but the battery life is going fast and I've had to reboot it twice due to software glitch. sometimes the video screen is black due to "ring server" issue or update (whatever) but besides that its decent. my other ring devices are better.

All battery-powered Ring devices, including the Ring Video Doorbell, use passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect motion. Adjustable motion zones work by identifying visitors based on a change in temperature, and sending a signal to your smart device when it detects one. You can control the sensors' range and sensitivity using the controls in the Ring app. It is also optimized for low-power operations to save on battery power.
