Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concerns mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not what you expected. At Ring, we work hard to be completely transparent in both our products, and the optional services in which we provide. The Ring Protect Plan is mentioned on our Ring packaging, on our website, in the welcome email you received upon setting up your device. Your Ring products provide their standard features (instant alerts, live view, and two-way talk) without any subscription.
