Good field of vision and reasonable monitoring fees. It’s compatibility with Alexa makes it a good choice for Prime users. Cons: No wedge available to redirect the angle and the specialty tool is a little annoying to keep track of, but other than than its awesome.

Imagine my surprise when it showed a level & it said to use the wire extenders included, both of which did NOT come with my 2md Gen unit. I am not sure if should have come with it or not. The info is vague. Plus my existing doorbell wires only stuck out about an inch so would have been nice to have. After hookup & verifying it works we were surprised it doesn't show area directly below. So if someone puts a package in front of our door or directly below the doorbell we will not see it. I can see a wide area otherwise. The different things you can do in the app is a lot. Trying to find them? I had to Google that. So far it does notify me if someone is at the door. Gonna test out a couple of weeks before deciding to keep it or not. Oh, & there is a surprise subscription.

It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the features of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation). The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) should come with all of the parts needed for installation. Please double-check the inside pocket of the packaging to ensure the parts are not hidden in the cardboard. If pieces are missing in the package, please contact our support teams. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) provides a 155° horizontal and 90° vertical field of view. It also offers near-zone motion detection in areas as close as 5 to 15 feet in front of your home. One of the biggest mistakes people make is mounting their Ring doorbell too high. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) should be mounted approximately 48 inches above the ground. If you need to angle your device downward, wedge kits can be purchased and installed behind your device.

I subscribed to the cloud storage to monitor when I’m away. Even use the mic when fedex arrives to alert them to leave the package at my neighbor

I’m so glad that I did! I love seeing the coming and goings of my home and the subscription is affordable. I just wish it offered a broader view and had a longer battery life, but overall I’m satisfied with my purchase.
