Posted .Hi there. I understand the importance of being able to rely in your Video Doorbell for peace of mind. If your Video Doorbell is frequently disconnecting from the wifi, I'd recommend verifying the strength of the wifi signal. You can do this by checking the RSSI on the Device Health page as outlined here https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. Therefore, if you need to charge it, you have to take the camera down. This leaves you with no camera for the time needed to charge the battery. Not a practical purchase. I returned it.

It can be installed with or without an existing doorbell system. It offers features like upgraded video quality from 720p HD to 1080p HD, near-zone motion detection in areas as close as 5 to 15 feet in front of your home, and a reimagined mounting setup that simplifies installation.
