    Initially purchased due to "ease of set up", bought this and an indoor stick camera. The stick camera set up was super easy. Charged this doorbell, tried setting it up and fails every time. Keeps telling me the Wi-Fi password is incorrect and despite what Ring's troubleshooting and the rest of google believe, I entered the password correctly. The second suggestion I kept seeing was "try connecting other devices to Wi-Fi", the laptop, two TVs, two phones, iPad and another ring camera all seem to connect to it just fine, so I don't know.

It is imperative that your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) detect and alert you to the motion events that matter the most to you. The motion sensors in your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) are designed to detect motion up to 155° horizontally and from five to 30 feet outward from the fixture. They're also more sensitive to horizontal movement across the detection area than vertical.

      Here are a few pro-tips for making the most of the motion detection feature on your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release):

      - Utilize the Near Zone feature.
      - Look for high traffic areas and exclude them.
      - Mount the device at about 48 inches (1.22 m) from the ground.
      - If your door is atop a set of stairs or a hill, install with a wedge kit. This should ensure the doorbell catches a visitor's motion as it approaches.
      - Set the Motion Frequency to 'Frequent', to ensure all motion is detected.

      Thank you for leaving a review of the rechargeable lithium-ion battery and sharing your user experience with us. We understand how important it is to ensure that the battery is holding its proper charge and how cumbersome recharging the batteries can be. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.

      This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773. The more events are captured by your Ring device, the more your battery is used. Also, using Live View often can drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In order to prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change the motion frequency to "regularly or periodically," or adjust the direction of your Ring device, so it doesn’t detect as much motion.

    I wish I hadn’t spent my money on this, after a couple of months it started disconnecting from the network and sometimes does not let me watch the recordings because “I don’t have a active subscription” when I did paid for the whole year. Called customer service it took like an hour for somebody to answer.

      The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.

      If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud servers, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your router. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router. It is imperative that we get your Video Doorbell(2020) setup and working to its full potential.     Doesn’t work with my mom’s house

    I bought this for my mom’s birthday. We tried to set it up today, but the wires made it go to overdrive, so it couldn’t work. By the time of looking into this to see i could return it, i missed the deadline by 1 day. I work for the warehouse in KY, so i want to see if i could get a refund so my siblings and i can get their money back.

    This is nice to have. Pairs easily in the app along with my other ring cameras. I will say that it went to watch my son go back across the street after he brought me the mail and it did not show him walking back. Not sure what that was about.

    garbage. falls off the internet regularly. stops working for days at a time. when you reconnect, you have to get a special tool to take it off the bracket and push a reset on the back of the device. this worked for the first few months. it will no longer reconnect to the internet. now i get a silly error message that says "Hmm. Something went wrong. Sometimes, devices just don't want to connect to the internet....." junk. do not waste your money.

      It sounds like the device is not operating as expected. With Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), stay connected to your home from anywhere by seeing who’s at your door and answering it right from the Ring app. Enjoy enhanced features like upgraded video quality from 720p HD to 1080p HD, near-zone motion detection in areas as close as 5 to 15 feet in front of your home, and a reimagined mounting setup that simplifies installation.

      Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is compatible with b/g/n WiFi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is having trouble connecting, the Ring app will show an error with a code that will help you with your issue.

      Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
      Your Ring device may be too far from your wifi router.
      Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
      Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).

      To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap “Devices.”
      Select the ring device you would like to test.
      Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
      Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
      The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
      Move your WiFi router off the floor. Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.

      Check your mobile device's signal.

      If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.

      We recommend testing the speed of your internet by visiting this link: https://www.speedtest.net. Follow the instructions on the website. Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading.     Very good so far. App needs improvement to quickly and easily turn it off to not record video when it’s you getting out or coming back home. I know you can delete the video but it may seem easier if you can just turn it off momentarily
