Not as good as I hoped, but better then I expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can come off the hooks for it kind of easily, and battery is a bit less then what I expected for it, but overall, yeah, I'd say it's a good purchase, plus it has a much bigger range on the camera then what you'd expect

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model does not work with wires. It only works on battery. Also the battery will last for only 45 days. For every 45 days it needs to be charged. I don’t recommend this model.

Posted .Hi VijayrajkumarG.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the battery life concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) was designed with the ability to work wirelessly or be hardwired with or without an existing doorbell.
Follow these steps to install your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) with an existing doorbell:
Disconnect power to the installation area at your circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and/or professional installation may be required by law.
To begin, set it up in the Ring app before mounting it at home.
1. Charge the built-in battery. Fully charge the built-in battery by plugging it into a USB power source using the provided orange cable. When only one of the two LEDs on the battery is lit, the battery is fully charged. Tap here for more information on charging your Ring battery.
2. Set up your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) near your wifi router. In the Ring app, select Set Up a Device and follow the in-app instructions.
3. Try it out. After setup, push the button on the front of your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) to see video from the camera in the Ring app.
4. Install your Ring Doorbell. For the best results, mount it around four feet (1.2 meters) above the ground. If you're connecting to existing doorbell wiring that's higher than four feet and want to angle your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) down for a better view, you can purchase a Ring Wedge Kit.
5. Remove your existing doorbell. If connecting to existing doorbell wires, shut off the power at the breaker. If you're not sure which breaker controls your doorbell, turn off the master breaker for your home or contact an electrician. Once the power is turned off, remove the doorbell button from the wall and disconnect the wires. Your Ring Doorbell is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 8 to 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and 5VA to 40VA.
6. Mark the screw holes. Use the bracket as a template to mark the four corner holes.
7. Optional: Install the wall anchors. You'll need to install wall anchors when installing the device on stucco, brick, or concrete.
8. Install the mounting bracket. If you are connecting it to existing doorbell wires, feed the wires through the hole in the mounting bracket first. Using a Philips head screwdriver, drive the mounting screws from Bag A into your wall (or into the anchors, if installed) until they are flush with the mounting bracket.
9. Connect the wires. Connect the wires coming out of your wall to the screws on the back of your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.). Either wire can connect to either screw. The order doesn't matter.
CAUTION! Do not connect to a DC transformer, halogen or lighting transformer, or intercom.
10. Attach your Ring Doorbell to the mounting bracket.
Hook the slot on the rear of your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) onto the tab near the top of the mounting bracket. Then, let the doorbell pivot down to sit flush on its bracket.
11. Secure the doorbell. When securing your Ring device with the security screw(s), only use the small star-shaped screws that came with your device. Do not use any other screws. Use the star-shaped end of the included screwdriver to insert and tighten two of the security screws from Bag B into the bottom of your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.).
12. Restore power at the breaker. Turn the power back on at the breaker. It may take a moment for your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) to power on. You'll know it's ready when it lights up and speaks to you.
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.
Thank you,
Melissa from Ring.

Posted .Hi Csue!
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, as we understand how vital the battery life plays a role in your overall home security. While the battery can go months between charges, this is dependent on a number of factors, including the amount of events your device detects.
If your device is located in a high traffic area, try out our new Customizable Motion Zones to eliminate motion detection in areas you do not want monitored. Customizable Motion Zones will allow you to draw different shapes that are more dynamic than Adjustable Motion Zones. You can add up to three different Motion Zones. The following steps will walk you through setting up a Customizable Motion Zone on your device:
1. Tap the three lines on the top left of the screen and select Devices.
2. Select the battery device that you want to adjust, then select Motion Settings from the tile menu.
3. Next, tap Motion Zones and choose Customize Motion Zones, and then Continue
4. Use the slider to adjust motion sensitivity from minimum to maximum sensitivity
Once you’ve drawn your Motion Zones and adjusted the motion sensitivity slider, the changes will take effect the next time the device detects motion. To apply your changes immediately, walk in front of your camera to create a motion event.
We would love the opportunity to help optimize the battery life, as we know you rely on it to keep you updated on activity around your home. Please reach out to our support team at your earliest convenience, so we can assist you.
All the Best,
Caitlin with Ring

Posted .Hi JeffS.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring Video Doorbell is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion surrounding the optional Ring Protect Plans. The Ring Protect Plan is a subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as video doorbells, cameras, alarm, and Car Cam. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.
Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
There are three Ring Protect Plans available for home devices, and one Ring Protect Plan available for Car Cam. Plans start at $3.99 per month. Visit our support center for more details.

Ring door camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sales person didn’t tell me that there was a subscription for the use of the ring camera. After 30 days it shut down and Don work because I won’t purchase the $10 dollars per month for it. Now it is useless. Best Buy wont take it back after 14 days. So I’m stuck with a door camera that don’t work and I’m out $100 dollars. This could have been prevented if the sales person told me what to expect. They lost a customer and I have a door camera that wont work unless I take out your plan. I’ll throw it in the trash and tak my loss and learn from it.

Posted .Hello doorbell,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate reading your feedback regarding the Ring Video Doorbell 2020. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will help shape the future roadmap for Ring devices, features, and services.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell is not picking up the correct motion. The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) is the next generation of the original Ring Video Doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the 2020 release Video Doorbell boasts 1080p video, improved night vision, improved audio quality and near motion zone detection. If you are having trouble with your device picking up the correct motion. We recommend adjusting your motion settings and zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only the areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of "false positive" motion alerts. For more information on adjusting your motion settings to better fit your needs, please see our help center article titled: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041248971-Using-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-2020-release-.

Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that you have the best possible experience with your products and services. Home security is a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week business, and Ring knows the importance of having access to your devices at the times you need them most.
