Manager seen no need to keep me as a loyal custome
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a ring door my second purchase because the service guy told me they didn’t require recharging but monthly or 6 weeks. First big error, of disappointment feeling taken advantage of! So, I purchased a second door bell to have one charged when the other battery got low; another disappointment as the battery isn’t a swap out. Today denied replacing the malfunction door bell

Posted .Hi Sameach.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us.
We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the battery that the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) uses. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) runs on a built-in rechargeable battery pack. The batteries in Ring devices are designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation.
The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using Live View often can also drain your battery faster.
If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your Motion Settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change the motion frequency to regularly or periodically, or adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

Doesnt notify any one infront of your house but notifies if a car drives by, batter gets charged takes almost 2 days to charge and 4 days later it says battery needs charge. When it records some movement the recording is grayed out so cant see a thing.

Posted .Hello Mikey,
It is important to us here at Ring, that the features available to you on your new Ring Video Doorbell 2020 meet your needs and expectations. We really appreciate that you have placed value in owning one of our Ring doorbells for your home security.
* We recently released the Rapid Ring App, which was designed to facilitate a speedy response when answering notifications. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring App with most of the features stripped out except for Ring device statuses and the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app instead of the original Ring App you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible.
Think of this app as a companion to the Ring App. You'll continue to use your original Ring App for all the settings functions built into your Ring devices such as checking video history or adjusting motion and video settings.
To download the app, please go to the App Store (for iOS devices) or the Play Store (for Android devices) and search for “Rapid Ring”. Download and install the Rapid Ring app on your mobile device.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,

Posted .Hello Self,
Thank you for detailing your experience with the Ring Video Doorbell - 2020 Release. Although this device only pairs with 2.4 GHz networks, it should provide you with timely video feeds. We hear your concern and are here to help.
For those experiencing delays with loading video, please reboot your router. Routers handle a lot of data and will perform best when powered down from time to time. This can help with video delays on your Ring devices.
To learn more about fixing delays and other video related issues, please read our support article here:

Don't waste your money
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely not impressed. It starts recording way late into whatever motion it detects. I've missed vital events because of this. I would recommend Arlo. I've never had an issue with my Arlo set up.

Posted .Hello Crissy,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring experience with us. We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home. Ring understands the importance of having the motion detection and battery work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell is not picking up the correct motion. The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) is the next generation of the original Ring Video Doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the 2020 release Video Doorbell boasts 1080p video, improved night vision, improved audio quality and near motion zone detection. If you are having trouble with your device picking up the correct motion. We recommend adjusting your motion settings and zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. For more information on adjusting your motion settings to better fit your needs, please see our help center article titled: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041248971-Using-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-2020-release-.

Keeps dropping WiFi connection.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would connect to WiFi and drop after two or three seconds. It started just after the warranty expired. I spent 1 hour, and fifteen minutes on the phone with the Ring tech who kept saying it must be the internet providers problem, google fiber, however the other ring devises work just fine. I am exploring Google Nest as a replacement.

Loses Charge Too Quickly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in October but didn’t get a chance to install it until a few weeks ago. I installed it using the recommended solar frame so I wouldn’t have to bring it in multiple times a year to charge it. It was fully charged when I installed it and it is now only at 27%. I was under the impression it would only need to be charged 2-3 times per year, but the solar panel frame should make it so it keeps a charge at all times - it gets quite a bit of sun each day. So frustrating!
