But know this your kids will play with it a lot. Also battery last me about 3months then need to be charged, also a subscription fee for camera (no biggie) I do yearly for both doors. I need to see what's going on. Subscription not needed to hear doorbell , if that's all you need it for. Oh yeah announcements are made through other Alexa devices in your home and smart Tv's.

For example, there is no delay in notifications if someone walks by a couple times within a short span of time, so you can have multiple notifications for someone walking in and back out. Other than a few minor things I’m overall pleased with this camera.

We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion detection issue that you mentioned in your review. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

Not only am I able to view my property it picks up my neighbors house as well. Which they are grateful for. It has a really great picture. I was even able to reply to a solicitor at the door while I was at work. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Not only does this product hardly work and it seems to work worst in times when someone is walking around your house and snooping. There is no 24 hour recording, it’s actually a 5 minute interval between recordings for the maximum amount of video you can record. So as far as the tech goes it’s a hunk of trash. Now let’s get to the community that is remotely controlled by various police departments. Ring literally has inside contracts with over 500 different police departments. When I uploaded a video of someone littering on my property ring took it down and said it went against their community standards. Confused as to which standards I tried to contact them with no success as I was rerouted to contacting support, via email and then got the same generic, “video went against standards”, message from them as well. If you actually want to secure your home do not use ring. If there are crooked cops behind your community’s ring they can cause you massive problems. Google nest is a way better option. Instant streaming, 24 hour recording, facial recognition, high definition videos that make Ring look like it’s running on dial up, 56K. But hey you pay what you get for in Ring, police and big brother monitoring you and your loved ones and they probably have better streaming on their end which is why it never connects for the customer especially when crimes are being committed.

With video requests, no user data or specific addresses are shared until the device owner approves the request. Law enforcement can only see posts that users share publicly.
The reports claiming that police can obtain any video from a Ring doorbell within 60 days are false. Ring will not release customer information in response to government demands without a valid and binding legal demand properly served on us. Ring objects to overbroad or otherwise inappropriate demands as a matter of course.

After your trial period of being able to save videos you have to pay for a subscription. It is relatively cheap but still kind of crazy how everything has a subscription these days. The app is decent but a tad bit difficult to me.

Also it stays charged for weeks to months depending on your preferred settings.

It's nice to have the peace of mind ring gives you. Insanly easy to set up. I wass worried about the battery life but it's insane how long it lasts. I definitely recommend this.
