We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased to read that you are enjoying your new Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.)! We have included the steps here to set up your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) in the Ring app:

1. Open the Ring app.
2. Tap the menu (☰).
3. Tap Set Up a Device.
4. Tap Video Doorbells.
5. Tap the blue I’m Ready to Scan button. Use your mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code on the device’s packaging. When a green square and a pop-up with your device image appear, the code has been recognized.
6. Enter the location where your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is being set up. If this is your first time setting up a Ring device, the Ring app will ask you to use your phone’s location services to pinpoint your location.
7. Give your doorbell a device name. You can proceed with the device’s default name or give it a custom name. Connect your doorbell to Ring.
8. For iOS: Tap Join when the Ring app asks to join the Ring wifi network.
For Android: If your device does not automatically connect to the Ring wifi network, exit the Ring app. Go to your mobile device’s Settings. Tap wifi. Select either Ring- or Ring Setup. Once connected, close your settings app and return to the Ring app.
9. Tap Continue in the app when the blue light stops flashing.
10. Connect to your preferred wifi network.
11. Once your device automatically finalizes the setup process, it will be ready to use.

Thank you for providing a very detailed review on your experience with the Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release). This really helps us better understand your concerns, and provides us with the opportunity to address them and improve your experience with Ring.

We would love to get you in touch with a Ring specialist to look into this concern further together. Meanwhile, here is an article from our Help Center that may help address the concerns you are experiencing. This article will go over troubleshooting audio issues that may occur on your Ring device for various reasons: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050175212-Audio-and-Sound-Issues-Troubleshooting-Guide. In this guide, there is one specific step that will be important in identifying the source of the problem. If you have a Ring Protect Plan, or are within the 30-day trial, take note of the audio from the recorded video vs when speaking through Live View. While you have stated that there have been videos deleted, try to collect these examples through a recent Live View.

Videos should remain stored in the cloud for up to 60 days with an active Ring Protect Plan, or until the 30-day trial has expired. Account owners will be the only users capable of deleting videos, so we would like to look at this concern with you directly to report to the appropriate team for review.
