Two things I don't like about this version. One there is no removable battery, the whole unit comes off to recharge. I have a spare battery for the first version and it would have been nice to swap the battery when needed. Second this version no longer comes with the wedges for installation. The first version did. Now if you want wedges, you have to buy them separately for another $20. That seems like a 'nickel and dime them' move to me, not to happy about that.

Misses ovet half the event including ones where the delivery driver put the package directly beneath the device, but at the same time, it detects every deer that comes into my yard, despite neing set thru "smart alert" to detect only humans. Menu is clunky and difficult to navigate. The device is NOT VPN complisnt, so it has to be connected to s non-VPN wifi router, and, several VPN locations on my phone resident VPN block the device. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Having accurate motion detection is essential in providing the peace of mind that Ring strives for. We are here today to provide you with information to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to motion detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app. To optimize your motion zones and ensure that the device will detect accurately, please follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the relevant device.
Tap Motion Settings.
At the top, tap Edit Zones or scroll down to tap Camera Motion Zones.
Note: If you are using a battery-powered device, you may need to toggle on Advanced Motion Detection under Advanced Settings before you can add customizable Motion Zones.
To adjust an existing Motion Zone: tap the Zone you want to adjust, then drag the points of the Zone to do so. Tap Save.
To add a new Motion Zone: tap Add Zone and drag the points of the Zone. Tap Save.
