It does what its suppose to but there us a delay between the motion sensor triggering thebdevice to record and the device recording. Basically, you miss the first 2-3 seconds which is all it takes to swipe a package from your porch.

I'd suggest checking that your Ring Doorbell has a strong connection to your wifi network https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Checking-Wifi-Signal-Strength. If the signal is on the weaker side, you might notice delays with motion detection and motion alerts. Additionally, try adjusting your Motion Zones to ensure they cover common pathways that visitors to your property may take. It sounds like you have some concerns with the video quality of your device when there is direct sunlight present. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) offers 1080p HD video. Direct sunlight may produce a glare on the lens at various parts of the day. If this is a concern for your device, using a wedge or corner kit can help. Wedge and corner kits can be mounted behind your device to angle it in different directions. Visit our support center for more information.
