Works well, could use improvements

For example, there is no delay in notifications if someone walks by a couple times within a short span of time, so you can have multiple notifications for someone walking in and back out. Other than a few minor things I’m overall pleased with this camera.

We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion detection issue that you mentioned in your review. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

For example, uneven siding or brick, narrow door frame, recessed door. you can hardwire to xisting door bell or use included battery and use current doorbell chime. can not download videos without subscription but will still be able to view live and get all motion alerts.

Well, this Ring is easy to setup, and it's wireless! I recently moved and decided to replace my dates Arlo with a Ring system. It was really easy to set up and I have it paired up with Ring path lights, and a pair Echo Shows. Easy to set up! Next to is Ring Spot Lights and indoor cameras, which I'm sure will all integrate seamlessly! Great products so far!

It records motion and when someone has rung the doorbell. The camera has a wide enough view that we can see into the street and watch our cars as well. I would add that in order for the record feature to continue working you need to purchase the ring protect which is fairly inexpensive and would recommend having. And if you would like the the doorbell to ring inside the house i would also purchase the chime.

Out of the box you have everything you need, Installation was easy, quick google search and you have all the instructions you need. I had to connect it with my current wired system and had to turn off the power to the connection and then hook it up. Overall, it was an easy setup.

I really like being able to talk with people at my door from wherever I am! I also bought a chime so that the doorbell rings in my house and not just on my phone. A surprise benefit is that the doorbell wired into the previous doorbell charges, and I do not have to remove the battery to charge it.
