Missing hardware

None of the special. screws that is required to install the camera, was missing. The hardware is supposed to include, because it uses a special screw to install that will make it very hard for a thief to remove the device. Make sure you check the box before leaving the store.

Video quality, and notifications when motion detected is excellent. However, be aware that after 30 days, monthly subscription is REQUIRED to continue receiving real-time notifications. This should be more apparent in product description and packaging.

At Ring, we believe it is imperative that our customers receive all pertinent information regarding additional benefits they have the option to subscribe to, such as the Ring Protect Plan. Having this information allows someone to make the best purchasing decision for their needs. We provide information to our customers about the optional Ring Protect Plan on our Ring website, your Ring app will also notify you during the free 30-day trial of our cloud plan, as well as in an email after a successful setup of a Ring device.
A Ring Protect Plan is required in order to replay video footage for each device on your account. Ring Protect Basic activates video recording for one device per location and is $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year, per device. There is also another option, Ring Protect Plus activates video recording for all devices at your location and is $10 per month or $100 per year. The Plus plan also includes extended warranties for all devices. The entire system we bought through ring was around $400. At a mere $100 per year for professional monitoring, this system is a steal and extremely easy to install!

On Wi-Fi immediately and the picture is awesome. This is my second one and I highly recommend. I put them on any house I own.

Motion detection is great and it's integration with Alexa is a pleasant surprise. The one issue I have is that Alexa sometimes has issue with connecting to the device when motion is detected and it's attempting to connect to the camera. I haven't figured out what's causing that.

We were not sure of the camera’s range. They assured us that the range was a wide span of coverage. It allows you to adjust the range if you have to. We did need to purchase a wire extender, because our doorbell wires were too short. The instructions said that a wire extender should have been included, but it was not. We called the ring support and they would have mailed it to us, but we were already in the process of installing it. Instructions were easy to follow, and the ring staff support was very friendly and supportive.

We are thrilled with the purchase and it's much better than the doorbell going off and getting the dogs going. Also nice to see who is coming to the front door. Easy to install.

I set it up on my garage and I now have security in my back yard and the front of my garage, In the future I may move it to my side door and purchase a Ring camera to cover the back yard.
